During a severe storm this tree was uprooted and fell across the street. Two cars were buried underneath the tree. Fortunately noone was injured.

Carson Memorial Lookout located on "Thunderbolts Way", a road linking Glousester to Walcha, in New South Wales, Australia.
The road is named after a famous Australian bushranger, known as Captain Thunderbolt.
There is another panorama of this in my photosteam called "Heck of a View", that was taken on another trip, before the devastation on the landscape.
The fire went through these mountains causing road closures 12th February 2017... The fire was reported to be over 800 hectares in size, at that time.
We traveled this road on the 22nd February and there was still spot fires burning.
Some wildflowers in the foreground managed to survive the heat and smoke, although, not quite at their best. I guess that is the good Aussie survival instinct!

Yesterday I spotted this guy paddling the channel. It was 29* out and I asked him as he went by if he was freezing and he said no he was quite warm with his suit on and all. He went out front and turned around and came back thru the channel.
Also see the damage to the pier (buckling) from the waves. Ready to cave in the cement walk.
