My "hotel" had a "pool" on the roof, almost too small to swim in. But it did have a view over to the airport, and I spent few minutes taking pictures of planes taking off. In the early afternoon, it's just one A380 after another, zooming off to various European cities. These shots were all taken with the camera's maximum zoom, so a little shaky, and some heatwave distortion, too.

It is always interesting to see people acting restless on airports... whenever i travel i enjoy my time at airports the most while observing people and their doings.... DXB being one the busiest transit airport in Asia was even more interesting. Watching people from many different races revealed on me that people from all over the world have more or less same instincts..... people from work going home after long time are the happiest ones.. they are going to have good time at their home after longings of being away from their people.... they have many handbags and even then they dont feel it enough for their freinds and family and keep looking for anything else that might make their people happy.... people traveling for the purpose of leisure are quite excited.. the excitement to see new place and the carefree life to come during the holidays is making them feel relaxed even before they have taken the feast. Then the people going for work... they have a mixed feeling of fear and excitement.. would it be the same job they were looking for? would it bring them enough wealth so that they respected in their country....? would their work permit be resolved? would it be a nice place? if i will be able to make friends? and many more questions they carry in their hearts... their are even more feelings that an airport is carrying in it.... and this way the whole mixture of excitement, happiness, fear and sadness is making it more restless and alive.......

I must say I do like this new Greenline livery but I think that there was no point in putting a 10 year old bus in a new livery it doesn’t make sense really I think they should go back to citaros .

The big plus for westerners is the fact that you need no visa here (strictly speaking you get a visa on arrival). The only question they ask/mumble is what hotel you are staying in.

Also notable that the officers are mostly female and apparently locals. Check out the henna paintings when you hand them your passport.

The authorities here follow the golden rule: Every minute a tourists waits in the immigration queue is a minute he could have spent better buying expensive crap in the city. I have never spent more than 5 minutes here.

Right after this is a strange X-ray hand-luggage check where everybody just rushes through without even looking at the guards that monitor the screens.
