My wife is presenting on "Drug Shortages" at a pharmacy conference next week, and asked me to come up with a graphic for her slides. Most times I draw one up for her, but this time I was inspired to build it out of LEGO bricks. It will be interesting to hear what kind of comments she gets…
Former Katz City Drug Store located at 1735 South Glenstone Ave. in Springfield,MO. The building is currently occupied by a CVS Pharmacy. The exterior of the building is relatively unchanged since its days as Katz City. The store is noted as being the "largest CVS in operation" and while I cannot confirm that claim it does seem believable. A few years ago about 1/3 of the store was closed off to customers although the large unused space is still visible behind a few poorly placed shelves. As stated in my previous Katz City post I must add a link to the Pleasant Family Shopping blog which did a fantastic write-up on the Katz chain.

Poor Kitty. He had a comprehensive veterinary exam plus a teeth cleaning yesterday, and when he got home, he was really out of it. He made it up onto the windowsill, but he was kind of teetering... and he had his tongue stuck out all funny... oh, and you can see where they put an IV in his arm and neck to sedate him. Poor poor Crooky.
I Met this man who we can call Nisse during a photo-walk. He asked why I using my camera, he was worried I was a police officer, I told him not. He told me his life-story with drugs, crime and no home. I asked him if I could take a portrait of him and he agreed, smiled and hold up his cigarett lighter. I made a print for him and give him later, it was in my bag for a long time before I met him again. I wasn´t sure if I should publish this shot but I decide to do it after a year.

"I'm caught up, I'm on one, I'm nauseous.
No options, exhausted.
This is not what I've started.
Walkin' carcass, I lost everything I wanted.
My blinds drawn, too far gone to leave this apartment."

Seen as a medical miracle to help women with pregnancy issues and a dependable source of steady income for pharmaceutical companies, Diethylstilbestrol (DES) was given to millions of women around the world. It was meant to be a wonder drug for expecting moms but its devastating impacts are now hitting their daughters and sons, decades later. Diethylstilbestrol was considered safe and effective for both mothers and their developing babies until the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advised physicians in 1971 to discontinue prescribing diethylstilboestrol in pregnant women because of its link to a rare vaginal cancer.

Unedited shot of the Bulldog Coffeeshop in Amsterdam. Taken with my HTC Desire using the Camera360 Android app. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)
Amsterdam is world-famous for many things, the most obvious being of course Sex, Drugs and raw Fish....ehm, wait, raw Fish?! Yes, that's right! There are about 35609907 'Haring' stands all over the best city in the world, and you are expected to go there and pay for being given a piece of raw fish covered with raw onions, tilt you head back in a 45 degree angle and swallow that baby in 2 or less bites. Yes, you've heard me right, we expect you to wolf down raw fish covered with raw onions, and you're supposed to enjoy it AND pay for it! Why would we do something so horrible to you? Simple, to avoid that you dare walking up to the pretty girls sitting in the windows, because let's be honest, who has the nerves to walk up to any girl, anywhere, smelling like a dead fish that rolled around in onion-juice for a couple of days?! Nobody, that's who! I have a theory that the working girls made a deal with the fish guys to errect one of their smelly stands on every corner in Amsterdam, just to make sure that their chances of actually having to sleep with you are minimized to about 0.000001%, hahahaha :D
I sincerely apologize to all fish-fans and the Prostitutes in Amsterdam, I don't mean to diss you, I'm just in a cocky mood today, please forgive me, thanks, lol :D
Have a wonderful week :)
