I present here, on Flickr, a series of stolen and not stolen shots, rescued from oblivion, taken on the streets of Taormina, a tourist town on the eastern coast of Sicily. I took many photos by lengthening the exposure times, thus achieving a “blur” effect; I took portraits, especially of very nice couples, one of Chinese origin who got married in Taormina, one from Holland, another from Germany, portraits of very sweet and very nice Chinese girls, a very nice girl portrayed while she was working in a pastry shop, of the artist Leopoldo, a theater actor, who I had the pleasure of photographing (and posting) on several other occasions.
Presento qui, su Flickr, una serie di scatti rubati e non, tolti all’oblio, realizzati per le strade di Taormina, cittadina a vocazione turistica, della costa orientale della Sicilia. Molte foto le ho realizzate allungando i tempi di esposizione, raggiungendo in tal modo un effetto “blur”; ho eseguito dei ritratti, segnatamente di simpaticissime coppie, una di origine cinese che si è sposata a Taormina, una proveniente dall’Olanda, un’altra proveniente dalla Germania, ritratti di ragazze cinesi dolcissime e simpaticissime, una simpaticissima ragazza ritratta mentre lavorava in un laboratorio-pasticceria, dell’artista Leopoldo, attore di teatro, che ho avuto il piacere di fotografare (e di postare) in diverse altre occasioni.

"The Drive” is arguably the most diverse and colorful neighborhood in Vancouver. It’s also ground zero for many of Vancouver’s largest festivals, including Illuminares, the Dyke March, Italian Day, the Vancouver Poetry Festival, the Parade of Lost Souls, East Side Pride and Car-Free Day.
The main drag runs between Venables Street and East 12th Avenue. You can travel here by using the SkyTrain to get to the Commercial Drive or Broadway stations, or by catching bus number 20.
Since Commercial Drive is outside the main tourist areas of the city, it’s a great place to meet and hang out with locals—so make sure you take some time to walk around the neighborhood and explore by foot.
Three words that come to mind when I think of Commercial Drive: coffee, coffee, coffee. In addition to the many independent coffee shops, you’ll find some of the best Italian espresso bars in the city here, as well as a number of Italian delis, bakeries, and markets.
Although this neighborhood used to be known as Vancouver’s “Little Italy,” today’s Commercial Drive is a melting pot of cultures and cuisines. In addition to the great Italian dining, there is also Caribbean, Latin, Ethiopian, Middle Eastern, Greek, Japanese, West Coast and many other ethnic options.

The journey is as important as the destinations. Road-side Randomness in CA, AZ, NM, TX, UT, and NV on my Epic Winter Break Road Trip.
Unfortunately, my GPS had been switched off and I didn't realize it, so I have little idea where most of these were actually taken.
I believe this would be around Marble Canyon on 89A in northern Arizona.

What drives me to make these photographs?
If we are talking literally, then it's my beloved 2013 Toyota Yaris.
As anyone who has spent ten minutes with me knows, I am very proud of my 153.5 inch, high-mileage, low-cost Yaris. A lot of the hikes up in the White Mountains take me 2-3 hours each way from home to the trailhead. So that's a lot of Yaris time listening to podcasts, drinking coffee, and scarfing down pre-hike or post-hike food. And I really enjoy the rides: the caffeine fueled anticipation on the way to the trail and that calmness that comes with physical exhaustion on the way home.
But the reason I am talking about the Yaris -- aside from the fact that I try to bring it up in every conversation -- is that I came up with the idea for this photograph looking out the windshield on my way to the trail.
And this isn't the only one. I went back and counted the photos I shared on social media the last two years, and I had about 10-11 photographs each year that I made after spotting something on the drive up. That's like 5-10% of the photos I share here. Perhaps it's the timing and the morning light; perhaps it's the fact that the highways up in New Hampshire offer some incredible views; or perhaps it's the streams and waterfalls near the roadside that look so nice before the harsh daylight sun comes out. I noticed I tend to find a lot more photos on the way up then on the way down, so I think the key is that I am really excited about the landscape and open to what's around me in the morning and that helps me find things to photograph. As a result, it's not uncommon that I already make a photo I am happy about before I even hit the trail, which honestly feels really nice.
An image I've been wanting to capture for some time is this one.
When I've drove through the Mersey tunnels the Birkenhead one has bends in and I always thought it would make a great scene on the bend. Hence we went to New Brighton for the sunset on Tuesday and captured this as my brother drove through the tunnel, hanging out of the passenger front window resting the camera on the mirror. I left the bonnet edge in on purpose.
Edited in LR and thats about it. Difficult to get a steady shot as we were doing about 35 MPH.

On Range Road 285 East of the City of Calgary.... you can see the Rocky Mountains... but, they are about 130 kilometers (81 miles) away and it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to drive there.
This one's for you Paul.. here is Canadian countryside at this time of year.
The snow has now melted on these fields...but, it is only March....there will be more to come before spring actually arrives. Everything's still dormant.... not much happening except a lot of geese finding the little water sloughs dotted here and there in the grain fields.... I don't know if they are filled with water all year or if they'll just dry up with time. Probably they dry out completely. They are pretty small.
We were looking for a custom garage that is way out here .....to sit in some seats .... somebody needed to check if my butt would fit into new seats for the MGB. Hmmpfff.... as if it wouldn't.
We found it... out in the middle of nowhere as you can see.....
I fit into the seats just fine ...guess he is keeping me.

on the highway. after bypassing the truck, i wound my window down, stuck my head and neck out and got ready to shoot. the truck honked twice, and i gave 'em a thumbs-up sign once i got my shots.

Riding across the bridge at the marina, left hand on the wheel dodging traffic, and shooting with the right. Not recommended for beginners! ;-)
Surprised to find a Hedgehog on my drive when I arrived home late morning. He soon scooted off under the bush's, just time for a quick shot from the car window. It is usually considered they must be short of food if out in the daytime
The eastern side of Morningside Drive is occupied by the 30-acre (12-hectare) Morningside Park, which has walking paths, playgrounds, and a duck pond. Non-institutional buildings on the west side of Morningside Drive are primarily apartments.
Morningside Heights stretches from West 110th Street (called Cathedral Parkway in some parts) to West 125th Street, and from the Hudson River to Morningside Avenue.

I travel this road every time I drive home from work. Today the light was especially lovely with mood and very atmospheric.
Ya had to be quick for scenery shots while riding on the train. And--hopefully not get someone else's head in your shot. The train was fun, but a lot of dedicated photographers elbowing for the best views.
