I waited.... and waited... and then... I missed it drop, as it all happened so...

A black-bellied plover in late afternoon light.

We would normally in Florida right now, but given everything that is going on, we are now slated to be there in November. I do miss walking the beach with my bride, but we can wait.

The good news is Spring is finally here and we are starting to see some new arrivals at our feeders. We have a single male western tanager that has been here for about a week now. Hopefully his friends will show up soon. In addition, a little male lazuli bunting was here yesterday. And the hummingbirds are here in force!

Stay Safe and Happy Wednesday!

Thanks so much to everyone who takes the time to view, like or comment on my photos!

Macro of Rain Drop's,at the end of a Blade of Grass.

A drop of water splashes into a colorful puddle.

For Macro Mondays "Drips, drops and splashes" theme. Taken with an off camera flash to stop the motion. This sort of thing is all about timing and it isn't easy to get it right. Probably took 700 shots and only about 20 were anywhere near interesting.

This little Squirrel had just had a long drink from the water bowl.

The light was bouncing off the bowl and hitting his chin.

Raindrops on the furry leaves of a Stachys flower stem. Taken in the garden with natural light and no tripod!

Water dripping off an Apple Snail held at sunrise by an Everglades Snail Kite. This species in the Hawk family only eats this for their diet.

This image is supposed to represent the drip, drip, drip of the news. Yesterday it was announced that schools in my state will be closed for the next 2 weeks. It will be interesting to see how we all transition to electronic learning. It's one day at a time as we adjust to our new circumstances. I am staying away from public settings so no Jazzercise for me, working out at home is just not the same. New challenges and new routines coming our way. I'd love to hear how you are all managing the changes and challenges you are facing.

Macro Mondays - theme: Liquid Droplets

Although short of time I couldn't get this very cool theme out of my head ... so at some point I finally gave in:

This is the result of an impromptu 'photo shooting' (handheld, without tripod or flash) in my mum's bathroom who I was visiting this weekend. I used the small shower head of the bathtub to create droplets. These are the drops that form after the water has been turned off.

This image is well under 7.5 cm. The little cyan nozzles are about 2 - 3 mm in diametre

Happy Macro Monday, everyone

I will be catching up tonight

from my late mother's thriving #garden (with love) ;)

My camera club is keeping us all busy during this pandemic with a scavenger hunt. One of the items has really been a challenge for me and would explain yesterdays photo of the raindrops because I went out looking for a drip. Not until I went to fill the chicken's water dishes did I discover a great steady source of drips... the outdoor water spigot! Lots of chances for "practice" shots here! LOL Stay safe, do happy things, survive!😎

John Mulaney Got Cheated Out of $120K: youtu.be/aiqKK4ysI7g

Spent the morning on the bayou and had some errands to run, so am a bit late to the party this evening. Something a bit different from the multitude of Yellow-crowned Night Herons and Green Herons that I have been seeing lately. I titled the shot drip dry, but it’s more like launch preparations as this Cormorant prepares to take to the air as I approach. He’s perched on a tangle of limbs stuck in the middle of Horsepen Bayou and departed right after I took the shot.

The Stockton Terminal and Eastern is one of two famed independent shortlines still operating in that gritty Central Valley City. The 111 year old road is now a subsidiary of Omnitrax and operates with a small roster of switch engines. On a dark rainy evening MP15DC 777 rolls slowly east down Roosevelt Street along the 2500 ft of street running through a nice residential neighborhood after departing the UP interchange. This location is between North Pilgrim St. and North Airport Way.
