Water, waiting to fall.

Little drops of dew from the morning mist in the little forest near Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado.#canonEOS

may not appeal to aesthetic sensibilities, but why not step a little out of line!

. . . this is a cool little bronze metallic chain that goes from the roof eve all the way to the ground, to allow water to run off the roof. This one is frozen solid with ice! This can be found at the Grass River Nature Center main entrance. Taken at the start of the Last Photo Walk of 2012 for the Traverse Area Camera Club.

Enjoy the last day of the year Facebook and Flickr friends!

Our windmill got so covered with ice it won't spin.

My first attempt at capturing a drip. A bit OOF, but what the hell?

Haven't been on much lately; just been so very busy! The 3 photos I'm posting now will make 800 photos in my photo stream, so I wanted to make them reflect my 3 main obsessions....drips, drops, and dish refractions! (Same paper used in each) Here, the drip... Hope you're all well!! :)

With all sorts of specialty equipment, handmade mugs, latte designs and intricate drip systems, presentation has become a big part of enjoying a cup of coffee.

I found this drip apparatus featured at Case Study Coffee Roasters online. It is a cold drip system that produces acid free coffee, and a "unique flavor not found in regular coffee". In reviews users reported that it was, "beautifully impractical" and "worth the $$$".

Would the coffee taste any better if you had no idea it came from this tower? Is it a unique selling point for a city known for good coffee? Or is it's main purpose to serve as functional art? Either way, it caught my eye and the lens of my camera. I'm writing about it and tagging the business, so whatever the end goal, I think it did it's job.

Pottery showcased at a potter's studio for holiday shoppers. The pots in the back rows are tall, about four feet high. The artist made the stripes by letting some of the glaze drip down the sides of the pots. Port Charlotte, FL.

The title gives the story away. 'Twas wet a year ago, but the rain was light....

Title of folder: Today's Theme is Drip, Drip

Other photos taken on 9/23/2021: none

That's the theme for Macro Mondays, and this is one of two images I liked out of the dozens I took. However, I posted the other one to the MM Group, though I'm not entirely convinced I made the right choice. That image is right next to this one, so check it out and let me know if you think I made the right choice.

I had to urge to play with photographing water again.

Taken with my MP-E 65 at 1x, and lit with my 580EX+diffuser cap at 1/32 just off the right side of the frame. I would have liked to have set it brighter, but the flash duration gets to be too long for the rather fast-moving water. Perhaps next time I'll get out the big strobe again.

My first attempt at this type of shot. Not 100% happy with it as the column is ever-so-slightly out of focus :( So I;m gonna have to try it again, which means me taking over the kitchen for another night :D

Ice from water butt suspended on washing line. Melting in the sunshine waiting to catch the drip. Great fun.

Water conservation drip by drop

This picture was taken at the Niah Cave National Park in the Miri District of Sarawak, Malaysia, Borneo. The Niah cave has shown evidence of human habitation in excess of 40000 years. Besides its archeological finds, there has been ongoing economic interests in the extraction of guano from the cave bottom and the collection of bird nests from the cave ceiling, nests that are valued in the making of soup, i.e. bird nest soup. Access to the caves is by crossing the Niah River and then several miles of trail before reaching the caves.
