A Common Loon that's just resurfaced from a several minute snack-dive deep into Barton Pond during a light rain shower.

Our current cold, dark and wet early Spring weather may be welcomed by a duck, but for me... not so much.

Playing with colorful but slimy liquid as if

we were still in childhood is so much fun, isn't it ?

But it did clear later in the day.

This weeks Macro Monday challenge is water droplets. This gave just the opportunity I required to set up my Hi-Viz water drop kit that I made some time ago. Usually used to capture water droplets in a container I decided to take a slightly different approach. Initially with the flashgun at full power motion blur was evident because the flash pulse was to long, using a 1/32 of normal power to shorten the flash and increasing the ISO to compensate produced some pleasing results.

Taken in Lower Manhattan.Does anyone out there know the name of the artist? Crank junky has identified the silver ones as KR. This may be someone else.

Once again we had a very busy and full day and no opportunities for photo taking, so I got my daily fix by shooting off a few water drop shots back at the room... boring I know :)

I typically upload in small sets - don't just look at the latest one in my photostream as you might be missing something you'll like more.... and your comments are ALWAYS welcome :)

Gasteria glomerata, found in South Africa.

I'm used to this drop dripping.... but no splashing! As a Type II diabetic I frequently poke myself ... making a big drop of my blood for testing sugar levels.

no diabetics were harmed in the making of this drip :)

This little rain drop was left hanging out to dry on a cut vine stem in my garden today in Bristol.

I don't really like rain as a rule but the rain drops make ordinary things look special.
