Prom Dress by Body Type Series Look #5: The 'Skittle'
You have a skittle (bowling pin) body shape if you have...
average bust, slim waist, ok tummy, big thighs, and chunky calves (like Halle Berry).
For prom, look for a dress that concentrates on your top half. Look for a dress with a simple, figure-skimming skirt, and a bodice that is fitted and low cut, which will show off your bust and small waist. High heels and pretty jewelery complete the look. You likely have short legs, so avoid any heels with ankle straps.

Jennifer and her friend Pascal at a wedding reception last saturday. This was taken using my new Sigma 500 flash, which is a god-send for these kinds of events where there is almost no usable light. I had no practice with such a thing though, and that night was my first time using it.
And yes, I know the straw's a bit distracting. :oP
I saw a youtube video where someone modified Shizuka's dress with beaded lace and other stuff and thought, yes that's what it needed! Well, the lace down the center anyway. Except I only have ribbon and sticker jewels, but those randomly placed bows had to go. I also stole Byul's petticoat.
I purchased some fabric from the 1930's at a show in Santa Monica and made a fabulous dress. My daughter is modeling it for me.

From a 4XL men's polo to a super-comfy casual dress! Cut and sewed an A-line shape from the body of the shirt. Folded under the collar, sewed it down, and trimmed off the excess. Used the leftover fabric from the side seams to create straps.
