As much as I love my Nikon ; I also enjoy the results of my iPhone. The creative apps are a relaxing past time. I probably take as many photos with my phone as I do with the Nikon!

Misty snow-capped mountain peaks, volcanic rock formations, barren ice fields and alpine rainforests - all mirrored off the pristine glacial waters of Green Lake, Coast Mountain Range, British Columbia. Left to right: Mount Currie, Hibachi Peak, Armchair Glacier and the ribbed volcanic crater rim of Mount Weart (2870 m, 9400 ft) behind drifting low-lying clouds in the backdrop.

Access to the glacier and crater rim in the summer involves a steep, strenuous, often challenging 7 km (4.3 mile) hike - first through a dense subalpine rainforest of old-growth red and yellow cedars and Douglas firs, then a scramble across several huge volcanic rock slides and boulder fields, ultimately arriving at a pristine turquoise crater lake at the foot of the glacier. A stiff elevation gain of 1160 m (3800 ft). explore#7

The three paintings here are in vastly different styles, but each represent something of the dreaming of immigrant settlers in the Tasmanian landscape.

1. On the left is a beautiful painting of The First Basin at the Cataract Gorge from 1895. www.flickr.com/photos/luminosity7/48820837578/in/dateposted/

It is by Gladstone Eyre (1862-1933) and reminds me very much of the work of American artist Winslow Homer (1836-1910).

2. In the centre we have Geoff Parr's "Seascape towards Evening" 1967.

3. On the right is a striking landscape "Untitled" by Denise Campbell from 1973.

Dreamscapes: Kippen Muir.

For the 3rd night in a row I headed out Saturday night hoping for more clear skies with little moon and views of the stars and Milky Way. It was cloudy though so I contented myself with some simple lightpainting up on the rather squelchy Kippen Muir with the wonderful backdrop of the Fintry Hills silhouetted against the surreal light polluted skies of Glasgow.

Some photogenic clouds around at sunset yesterday - unfortunately the colour didn't explode at sunset, but we did get around 20 minutes of these beautiful magenta/purple tones before it went down!

This was taken in the fall of 2014 just as some colors were starting to light up the trees. I came back in the spring of 2015 and it was quite distressing how chewed up the sensitive mossy ground had become from other photographers in such a short period of time. This is one of my favorite waterfalls but I doubt I'll be back anytime soon as I imagine the destruction is only going to get worse.

This is 3 exposures blended together using my advanced Photoshop tonality control and multiple exposure blending techniques. I produced a video detailing these techniques, it's available here: www.zschnepf.com

Classic view of the Scripps Pier during the Blue hour. I recently re-edited this photo and wanted to share it again. Best viewed on black background.

I recently have been into converting old junkstore plastic cameras into pinholes. I never know what I'm going to get when I shoot them. This was a pleasant suprise.

revisiting an older theme. Ingredients: one ceramic candle holder, one circular black piece of plastic for selective mask, white/red/blue/yellow LEDs, two pieces artistic glassware. Four lensless refraction burns, one 100mm lensed "portrait" burn in one long exposure.

Hello again. I've had a four week break from Flickr. The four weeks included a couple of weeks in Corsica which is where I took this photo in the mountains near where we were staying. I'll be trying to catch up a bit when and where I can. Bear with. Happy Monday and have a great week ahead :-)

Faerie Queens and the stuff of dreams and legends.

Misty plume bush is a pretty perennial, native to eastern South Africa, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya and Zimbabwe and is common in damp places, often beside streams. Also commonly known as nutmeg bush, ginger bush and iboza.

It is densely branched, with succulent stems and light green, rounded velvety leaves. It bears tiny white to mauve, tubular flowers in 8 cm long spikes in early spring as can be seen here. The leaves have a highly aromatic ginger scent.

This specimen was 1.5 m x 1.5 m.

Some iris leaves I shot for a competition, simply cried out for a bit of artistic license.

I used, among others, two textures by Kerstin Frank.

Feels like a lifetime ago, this perfect 'instagramable' palm was eyed up a fair bit before I decided it was time to shoot it! :)

Meander meadow on Salt Creek, filled with beaver doing their construction work. Photographed in 665 nanometer infrared using an infrared converted Canon 20D and rendered in inverted false color infrared. Lincoln County, Wyoming.
