Qualche tempo fa leggevo di come talvolta una giornata possa iniziare in grande stile...
Appena giunto sul fra le Alpi, raggiunto dal primo raggio di sole sbucato fra la condensa mattutina, ecco, col primo treno in partenza da Domo, una "coppia" che inseguivo da parecchio tempo fra Svizzera e Germania, incredibilmente colta in Italia!
Ci troviamo a Preglia, ai piedi del Sempione, per assistere alla ripartenza di uno dei TEC deviati a seguito della frana di Arth, in questo caso un Piacenza-Zeebrugge di Crossrail. (4/6/13)

In a single day, the Gotthard, the Brenner and the Tauern lines were simoultaneously interrupted forcing the suspension of the great part of the international traffics.
Only a small number of trains were diverted along the Simplon/Loetschberg axle.
Here a GTS shuttle from Piacenza, a common presence of the Gotthard ramps, is climbing the Simplon one between DomoII and Brig in Preglia. (2013/6/04)

This is the first of a series of photos I'm planning to share from a wonderful holiday I had at Lake Maggiore in the summer of 2019. But I do so with some sadness, knowing how much suffering the people of this region of Italy have endured in recent times.
