A tenant-owners´society, the dwellings were built in 1952. At that time it was the biggest in Gothenburg: 278 dwellings.

A sight that brought fear to our foes in WWII, a B-29 Superfortress in flight overhead. Today it just brings awe as the Commemorative Air Force's Doc flies over Drake Field in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Doc is one of only two B-29s still flying some 75 years after they took to the air.
While out exploring rural SW Alabama enroute to Whatley, we stopped in Purdue Hill to take some photos of the many old historic buildings that are found there.
I made this photo of Dr. W.E. Broughton's office with Ilford HP5plus film using my Wista 45SD 4X5 camera. I'm finding large format photography to be quite challenging, however, that's what makes it so much fun and I hope to continuously improve.

From 1945 Served with the USAAF 44-69972 then from 1956 served with the US Navy BuNo 44-69972
In 2000 the Aircraft taken apart and transported to Wichita to be restored to fly again, parts were used from B29 44-69957

The Sand Hills appears to be dry, and for the most part it is. It does retain water which helps ranchers in two ways, watering cattle and for growing hay and alfalfa. These lakes also form wetlands for migratory birds. Here, another empty coal train passes Doc Lake, west of Whitman, Nebraska.
