I had to wait close to two years to be able to prove this. Last time I went to renew my Vehicle Registration with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in Oregon was October of 2014. They had started accepting credit cards if one renewed online. I really didn't like the idea of personal information and the like, being online, but I couldn't afford the cash, and I could afford to charge it. I dutifully filled in all the proper boxes. I gathered up all the pertinent insurance information. Where I lived at the time had horrendous Internet service, and frequently I completely lost whatever I was working on. It was dismal to have so many power outages out in the country and so many server outages.
Because of that, I had a hard time filling out forms anyway, as I never knew when my screen would go black. So I was working on my renewal one night and got to the box where I was supposed to fill in my credit card number. Obviously, I'm not going to put my real number here, but just pretend I put in
0786 4223 9849 1209, which was the way the numbers appeared on my credit card. Words popped up on the form to the effect that my credit card number wasn't valid. I put in each number again, racing against a likely power failure (even a momentary surge could make me lose all I had done). It still came up not valid. Then I thought maybe I made a typo. I took pains to methodically re-enter each number. Still no good! I thought perhaps my card had expired. Nope! I spent about 20 or more minutes altogether trying to enter the letters or numbers that would satisfy DMV. I even thought, that though my credit card balance should have been fine, that maybe the bank made an error and declined my card. I was getting really upset. I thought I would put a hyphen (dash) between each set of 4 numbers. I did 0786 and a hyphen, then 4223 and a hyphen and 9849 and a hyphen and had typed only 1 when the little box would not let me type any more numbers. I had seen that some places want a space like on the credit card and some want a hyphen like on some credit applications, but I had never before seen one where they wanted all the numbers strung together. After a great deal of exasperation I called DMV the next day. It wasn't easy to get past all the press 1, press 2 etc. Finally, they told me that I was required to string all 16 numbers together.
I told some friends, relatives and professional people I knew about my idea to call DMV back and say that I probably wasn't the only one frustrated by the lack of directions/explanations on the form. And also to say they should change it. The people I told all said in one way or another that it wouldn't work. A large outfit like DMV would never listen, etc.
In spite of a lack of support, I called DMV and talked to someone in administration. I told him how horribly frustrating it had been to keep thinking I was typing wrong or had something wrong with my credit card. Maybe I forgot to put my full name in, and so on. I suggested very nicely and politely that they should just add a simple phrase on their form by the box where credit card numbers are to be filled in. It should say something to the effect of "Numbers only, no spaces or hyphens please." I spoke with a Mr. Penfold who told me that he wasn't in the department that would do that, but he would certainly tell someone who was. A week or so later, I thought I would be able to pretend to be renewing my registration, not for any fraudulent purposes, but just to see if any change had been made, and then cancel before completing the form. It seemed that I had to have special renewal access code in other to get to the part in the renewal process where I could see the credit information page. I didn't have such a code. I called DMV to see if they could see the form and tell me if my idea had been used. Nope, they don't do any computer renewals right there at the DMV office. The credit card things are online.
There was nothing to do but wait close to 2 years for my personal renewal to arrive in the mail, get my newest renewal access code and see if DMV had done anything
Well as you can see above in my screen shot, they DID! There is a little tiny question mark right by the box and clicking it says just about verbatim, what I suggested. The people who said I'd never get anywhere with my idea/suggestion were wrong.
Over the years I have gotten 3 other large companies to make a little change that people said I would just be ignored about. I'll be writing up little stories and photo proof about those too.

We went all the way to Saskatchewan to find a great chase of the DMVW. On our way home we stumbled upon this westbound on the most scenic portion of their railroad. A good way to end a nice week long trip that began with four days of brutal weather.

The prolific French graffiti crew Da Mental Vaporz is leaving France with its artic weather conditions and presidential elections delirium to enjoy sunny horizons down under.
Armed with spraycans, the DMV crew consisting of Bom-K, Blo, Brusk, Dran, Gris1, ISO, Jaw, Kan, and Sowat are boarding the Australian continent with their individual style, from old school lettering to calligraffiti and figurative painting with a touch of dark humour.
With monumental murals and exhibitions across Europe, Latin America, New York, Moscow or Hong-Kong, the Da Mental Vaporz crew members are both known collectively and individually. Dran was even invited by Banksy for two solos shows at POW in London.
