Strangers you pass in the street - - unknown and untold stories.

The body language speaks volumes.

I have some boat cruising videos here youtu.be/AXq1iSp_YDw

on my You Tube Channel. You will probably enjoy watching them.

NRFF approaches the south portal of White Haven tunnel on its Northbound trip to Pittston. As the title states, this train was only 10 cars making it hard to get most of the shots we wanted due to them doing track speed (35mph) all the way to Pittston.

BNSF 7463 East crosses over the Willow Creek. Rounding the bend on main one. The Eastbound cuts through "Camp Disappointment". An area that was explored Meriwether Lewis. Who decided to see if the Marias River extended North into the 49th Parallel. (Thereby enpanding the Louisiana Purchase. On July 22, 1806. Meriwether Lewis, Drouillard, and the two Field brothers explored the Northernmost campsite of their expedition. After spending three days in search. Bad weather and the wary of encountering hostile blackfeet. They left on July 26, 1806 with the last words from Meriwether Lewis "We set out biding a last adieu to a place I now call Camp Disappointment." BNSF Hi Line Subdivision. Blackfoot, Montana. Many people are questioning the unfettered power of the U.S. Supreme Court after some very controversial and disappointing recent decisions. I came across this sentiment painted onto a local sidewalk on my morning walk today.

The same ultra-conservative Supreme Court has decided that state laws that preclude open-carry of guns are unconstitutional and at the same time, a woman has no constitutionally documented right over what happens in her womb. So we are forced to bear children that we don't want, or can't afford to bring up, just to have them killed in school shootings.... :(

My 365-2022: #188 of 365

The Copernicus Sentinel-2A satellite takes us over Lake Disappointment in northwest Australia. Found in one of the most remote areas of the country, it is believed to have been discovered by an early explorer called Frank Hann in 1897. He was convinced that the series of creeks that he had been following in the east Pilbara area would lead to a freshwater lake and drinking water supply. Such was his disappointment to find a salt lake at the end of his journey, he gave the lake its memorable name.

Although the lake is dry most of the time, it is home to many species of water birds. When it is full, primarily during very wet periods, the lake retains water and allows no outflow and is hence classified as an endorheic basin.

In this false-colour image, the differences in the shades of blue in the lake reflect the depth of the water. The darker the blue, the deeper the water is. A higher concentration of salt might also explain the different colours of the water round the edges of the lake.

It is likely that the red lines spread across the top part of the image represent some form of vegetation in this predominantly arid area on the edge of the Gibson Desert. Karlamilyi National Park, Western Australia's largest and most remote national park, can be found north of the lake. The park spans over 1.3 million hectares between the Great Sandy Desert and the Little Sandy Desert.

Covering an area of almost 380 000 sq km, the Shire of East Pilbara, also to the north of the lake, is the third largest municipality in the world. The population was registered as only around 11 000 in 2017, with mining constituting the backbone of the local economy.

The Sentinel-2 mission for Europe’s Copernicus programme is tasked with monitoring our changing lands. Designed specifically to monitor vegetation, it can also detect differences in sparsely vegetated areas, as well as the mineral composition of soil.

This image, which was captured on 1 April 2017, is also featured on the Earth from Space video programme.

Built to last. All it takes is one tree. Hope everyone was alright.

The title was my mood exactly today. Hence, where it came from. Despite the fact I had a bad day, I'm somewhat happy with this photo.

The hope for 1E23 the 10:40 Carlisle to Leeds at this time was a Class 40 but it wasn't guaranteed. Such was the case on 13th October 1984 when 47546 hove round the curve at Armathwaite.

This was the end of the king tides this time around.

Wind and waves at Cape Disappointment in Washington State

Delaware-Lackawanna's Taylor yard job was returning to Bridge 60 with Norfolk Southern's contribution to the annual Scranton Railfest.

Instead of sending something cool like a heritage motor or even just a SD40-2, NS just snagged a dirty GE from a passing freight to send.

Way to phone it in, Norfolk Southern.

After having a timely meet with two northbounds at Nickerson, UP 1989 charges south with a 15-car hopper train and 4 other UP engines. Not a common sight on the Hinckley Subdivision for that much power. I personally dislike how this came out because it was cloudy, hazy and the crossing pole got in the way of the front of the locomotive. To make things worse, this shot would have turned out better but a truck crossed the tracks right before it passed so that got in the way too. Hopefully next time this comes it doesn't fail so bad

Sorry I had you follow me up here,Billy. No sunflower seeds here!

"Anytime you suffer a setback or disappointment, put your head down and plow ahead." -Les Brown

I think this is one of the quotes that is easier said than done. Moving on and forgetting disappointment is so hard! But, I guess we all do it eventually.

I really loved the light (or the lack of it) in this picture.

King Tides at Cape Disappointment 2023.

I was experimenting 35mm film into holga so that I can expose out to the sprocket holes, just like using Blackbird Fly camera.

I love panorama and this way I don't have to buy another camera also I can use 35mm film with more shots than 120.

Was really hoping to see the 6002/9146 operate, but alas they sit quietly in the pre-dawn hours illuminated by a street light and the camera's compensation for low light on the siding in Chester. 6002 is an SD40T-2 and 9146 is a C40-8s slug. Maybe on my trip in June....

Probably not, most likely he was tired by having to lug his board around.

Awesome place to go take photos. I was a little focused on having fun and didn't take as many pictures as I should have, especially with the great landscapes. Maybe soon I'll go back and dedicate it just for photography.
