This was from the morning gathering at the lek* - these are Lesser Prairie Chickens (they don't have as much brown in them). They share territory in some areas.
*A Lek is a hill/or rise area where birds and animals gather to do their courting and sparking!

Les Forces de la Montagne, série en hommage au célèbre alpiniste, guide de haute montagne René Desmaison.
Il a parcouru les massifs montagneux du monde entier. Auteur de nombreuses expéditions dans l’Himalaya, les Andes, les Alpes.
Il réalise la premiere voie directe de l’éperon Walker des Grandes Jorasses. Il donne le nom à cette voie « La Voie Goussault aux Grandes Jorasses » en hommage à son compagnon Serge Goussault mort d’épuisement à quelques dizaines de mètre du sommet.

The Forces de la Montagne, series in tribute to the famous mountaineer, mountain guide René Desmaison.
He has travelled the mountains of the whole world. Author of numerous expeditions in the Himalayas, the Andes, the Alps.
He makes the first direct route of the Walker spur of the Grandes Jorasses. He gives the name to this route «La Voie Goussault aux Grandes Jorasses» in homage to his companion Serge Goussault who died of exhaustion a few tens of meters from the summit.

Le menhir d'Ozo est situé entre les villages d'Ozo et Izier. A son emplacement, le substrat géologique est constitué de siltite alors que le bloc lui-même est en poudingue. Avant la fouille, la pierre était couchée sur le flanc et dépassait la surface du sol d'une vingtaine de centimètres. La fouille s'est déroulée en mai et juin 1999, effectuée par l'équipe de la Direction de l'Archéologie du Ministère de la Région wallonne et de l'asbl Association wallonne d'Etudes mégalithiques.
A l'issue de la fouille, divers fragments de la pointe du menhir, trouvés en cours de fouille, ont été recollés, quelques fissures (consécutives à la tentative de destruction) fragilisant le monument ont été rebouchées avec une résine époxy très fluide. Le menhir a alors été redressé avec une grue dans sa fosse d'érection primitive. Lors de sa mise en place, il tenait tout seul, bien droit, dans sa fosse d'érection, ce qui n'était le cas ni à Heyd ni à Morville. Vu la position de la pierre d'Ozo à l'extrémité du champ mégalithique, ne pourrait-on voir là un signe des progrès accomplis par les constructeurs de mégalithes au fur et à mesure de l'extension des alignements vers le nord ?
Ainsi, le menhir d'Ozo atteint 6,5 tonnes. Haut de 3,40 m, sa silhouette trapézoïdale s'apparente à la forme dite en "Zeupire". Il marque actuellement la limite septentrionale du champ mégalithique de Wéris, étant le seul monument situé sur la rive droite de l'Aisne (il porte le n° 27 dans la classification des menhirs de Wéris). Sa relation avec les autres monuments n'est pas clairement établie, car il ne s'insère dans aucun des alignements connus. Il pourrait déterminer un axe -pas strictement parallèle aux autres alignements- avec le Thier de Sel, à l'autre extrémité du champ mégalithique. Le menhir d'Ozo est cependant visible de la Pierre Haina. Le matériel archéologique découvert lors de la fouille se limite à de rares silex, déchets de taille et à quelques petits tessons grossiers.

Literally happening in as I stared in disbelief. Didn't happen with every plane, just seemingly random ones.
I had to while away two hours at Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne, waiting for my flight to Adelaide after flying over from Hobart. A month later, they announced direct flight between Adelaide and Hobart. Yippee!

Flieder-Allee mit neuen Bäumen - der Weg liegt direkt über der UBahn. Beim Spazieren kann man sie hören.
À partir de neuf mois, des bois commencent à pousser sur la tête du mâle sous forme de pivots. À un an, ils sont visibles, et le mâle est alors appelé « daguet ». Les bois vont alors tomber chaque année (fin de l'hiver chez les cerfs âgés, début du printemps chez les jeunes) pour repousser au cours de l'été. Une enveloppe nourricière, duveteuse et irriguée de sang, assure leur croissance à la manière d'un placenta pour un fœtus. Fin juillet, le velours tombe. Paradoxe de la nature, les bois ne sont opérationnels que lorsqu'ils sont morts. Pour les dépouiller totalement puis les aiguiser en vue des prochains combats, le cerf va « frayer » en les frottant de façon répétitive aux arbres. Il mange les lambeaux de peau qui pendent aux ramures.
Les dimensions et la forme des bois varient individuellement, mais aussi selon l'âge et la sous-espèce. Contrairement à une croyance répandue, le nombre de cors n'a pas de rapport direct avec l'âge. Le premier cor se nomme andouiller de massacre, le second surandouiller.
Le bois de cerf râpé ou calciné était employé jusqu'à la fin du xixe siècle en tant qu'antidiarrhéique, les principes actifs étant la gélatine et le phosphate de calcium.

La baie de Pont-Mahé est située sur la côte de la Loire-Atlantique et du Morbihan, en France, au nord immédiat de l'embouchure des marais du Mès. Elle est limitée à l'ouest par la pointe du Bile, sur la commune de Pénestin, et à l'est par la pointe de Pen-Bé à Assérac, les deux lieux étant distants de deux kilomètres à vol d’oiseau.
La baie s'ouvre vers l'océan Atlantique en direction du sud-ouest. À marée basse, elle peut être découverte sur 1 km de long.
The legendary King Arthur has a direct association with the Castle Rocks of St John, courtesy of Sir Walter Scott’s epic poem of 1813, Bridal of Triermain. The poem tells the story of a young knight named Roland de Vaux who falls in love with a mysterious woman named Gyneth, who is revealed to be a fairy queen. The story takes place in the scenic Vale of St. John, near the town of Triermain. Gwyneth resides in the castle there (Castle Rock).
Synopsis of the poem:
The Bridal of Triermain interweaves three stories, all with a Lake District setting: the eighteenth-century courtship of Arthur and Lucy, the Arthurian Legend of 'Lyulph's Tale', and the twelfth-century romance of Sir Roland de Vaux.
In order to warn his aristocratic lover Lucy against excessive maidenly pride, the low-born poet Arthur recites 'Lyulph's Tale' in cantos I-II. He tells how how King Arthur is seduced by the enchantress Guendolen. When he abandons the pregnant Guendolen to resume his kingly duties, she swears revenge. Sixteen years later, the fruit of their union, Gyneth appears at Camelot to remind Arthur of his promise that should he and Guendolen produce a daughter, she would wed the bravest of the Knights of the Round Table. Arthur declares a tournament with Gyneth's hand as the prize but instructs her to halt the combat before lives are lost. As the instrument of her mother's wrath, however, she does nothing to end the ferocious fighting, until Merlin arises from a chasm in the ground to punish her. She is sentenced to slumber in Guendolen's enchanted castle until awakened by a knight as brave as any of the Round Table.
The poet Arthur's courtship of Lucy proves successful and, following their marriage, Lucy begs him to tell of Gyneth's fate. In the third and final canto, then, he recounts the quest of the twelfth-century knight Sir Roland de Vaux of Triermain. He has heard Gyneth's legend and sets out to find the enchanted castle. Having located it in the Valley of Saint John, he successfully passes through a series of allegorical dangers and temptations (Fear, Avarice, Sensuality, Ambition) to awaken Gyneth from her five hundred-year sleep and win her hand.
