3/3- Comme je n'avais pas bougé depuis un bon moment on peut dire que c'est lui qui est venu à moi sans le faire exprès sans doute. C'est mon premier face à face avec junior. Il y en aura plusieurs autres mais plus jamais aussi près

C'est l'un de nos visiteurs d'été les plus communs et les plus répandus ; son arrivée précoce et son chant profond et flûté lui ont donné son surnom populaire de « rossignol de mars ». On confond parfois d'ailleurs le magnifique chant de la fauvette à tête noire avec celui du rossignol. L'oiseau est caché dans le feuillage, mais d'un rapide coup d'œil on reconnaît la tête noire de la fauvette. Pendant la saison de reproduction, elle préfère les buissons épais, avec des petits arbustes ou de petits arbres. Après la saison de la reproduction, les fauvettes à tête noire, en route pour le sud, traversent les jardins. Elle visite les jardins à l'occasion, surtout ceux proches d'espaces broussailleux. La fauvette à tête noire visitera davantage nos jardins en hiver, surtout pendant une période de neige et de glace, pour rechercher la nourriture. Les oiseaux d'hiver commencent à arriver à la fin de l'automne, avec un pic de décembre à février.

He is one of our most common and widespread summer visitors; his early arrival and his deep, flute song gave him his popular nickname "nightingale of March". We sometimes confuse the magnificent song of the black-headed warbler with that of the nightingale. The bird is hidden in the foliage, but at a quick glance we recognize the black head of the warbler. During the breeding season, it prefers thick bushes, with small shrubs or small trees. After the breeding season, the warblers, on their way to the south, cross the gardens. She visits the gardens from time to time, especially those near brushy areas. The black-headed warbler will visit our gardens more in winter, especially during a period of snow and ice, to search for food. Winter birds start arriving in late fall, peaking from December to February.

Insociable et farouche, le Martin-pêcheur consacre une grande partie de ses journées à la surveillance du territoire. On l'observe le plus souvent passant en trombe, d'un vol direct comme une flèche scintillante, au-dessus de l'eau, s'arrêtant souvent sur des perchoirs favoris pour visiter ses lieux de pêche. Immobile sur son perchoir, il scrute la surface du plan d'eau en attendant patiemment qu'une proie se présente favorablement.

Call it luck or perhaps providence - accidentally locking ourselves out of a rented yurt immediately on arrival allowed us to help a similarly afflicted couple next to us a few days later. With staff gone for the day, their situation was a bit more dire - everything was locked inside, including phones, wallets, car keys, and even winter coats. We were subsequently all able to enjoy the scenery and one of them is checking out photo compositions in this image.
Les plumes que je ramasse dans la nature et surtout les poils de mes chats font le bonheur des oiseaux du jardin. Les Mésanges charbonnières mâles participent aussi à l'amélioration de l'habitat. Pour le peu qu'on en voit sur la photo, je ne saurai dire s'il s'agit d'une Mésange bleue mâle ou femellle, sans compter que c'est difficile même si on voit tout l'oiseau 🐣🐣🐣🐣🐣

New-Delhi (Inde) - Ce n’est qu’à mon dixième séjour à Delhi que j’ai découvert ce marché aux légumes du quartier de Pahargang. Mon camp de base. Il faut dire que si j’ai pris l’habitude de me perdre dans les ruelles du secteur, j’avais toujours négligé cette petite rue. Depuis, quand j’arrive ou que je repars de la capitale indienne, il m’arrive d’y venir plusieurs fois par jour. Tôt le matin, en fin de journée et parfois la nuit. Le marché ouvre à 7 h du matin et ferme vers 22 h30. Selon l’heure, ou la saison, l’ambiance est toujours différentes.

New-Delhi (India) - It was only on my tenth visit to Delhi that I discovered this vegetable market in the Pahargang district. My basecamp. It must be said that if I got into the habit of getting lost in the alleys of the area, I had always neglected this small street. Since then, when I arrive or leave the Indian capital, I happen to come there several times a day. Early in the morning, late in the day and sometimes at night. The market opens at 7 a.m. and closes around 10:30 p.m. Depending on the time, or the season, the atmosphere is always different.

almost 2 years ago when I started the idea of Toki-Doki I really wanted to build a shop all by myself but I did not have the skills (and still don't really) to make everything. So I dreamed that one day I will make my own shop and everything in it!
Today Toki-Doki has changed to its new build and it feels like I am closer to making it all come true :)

Come vi avevo promesso tempo fa ecco la ripresa della Libellula nel suo posatoio originale, l'ho ritrovata proprio in questa posizione, non mi sarei mai aspettata di trovarne nell'orto di casa, cercavo le Colias che solitamente stanno sulle foglie ed è stata una vera sorpresa scoprire che anche le Sympetrum amano gli orti! Quindi se mi chiedete dove potete trovare le Libellule, questo è uno dei posti dove vi direi di cercare, Buona Caccia! :)

Rouen (France) Photo datant de 2019, lors d’une des nombreuses manifestations des Gilets Jaunes. Les forces du maintien de l’ordre organisent une souricière pour inciter les casseurs à s’engager dans les rues étroites du centre historique de Rouen. Ceux qui sont sur la photo sont là pour empêcher les manifestants de prendre la fuite par les rues adjacentes.
Quand j’ai vu cette femme au parapluie que les policier venait de laisser passer, je suis immédiatement monté sur un plot en béton pour prendre un peu de hauteur et avoir une meilleure lisibilité de l’ensemble de la scène. Scène qui me semblait incongrue après les violences auxquelles je venais d’assister.
Il est difficile de faire des images sortant de l’ordinaire dans les manifestations. Comme je faisais des photos pour le site internet de France 3, j’avais pour mission de faire des images qu’on ne retrouverait pas le lendemain dans la presse quotidienne. Plus facile à dire qu’à faire, mais comme je n’avais pas d’obligation de résultat, j’ai observé tout ce qui se passait autour de moi, sans aucune pression.

Those pictured are there to prevent demonstrators from fleeing through adjacent streets.
When I saw this woman with an umbrella that the police had just let pass, I immediately climbed on a concrete pad to gain a little height and have a better readability of the whole scene. A scene that seemed incongruous to me after the violence I had just witnessed.
It is difficult to make original images in the protests. As I was taking pictures for the France 3 website, my mission was to find scenes that we would not find the next day in the daily press. Easier said than done, but as I had no obligation of result, I observed everything that was happening around me, without any pressure

After the War…
After the end of World War II, and for many – the Great Depression, the world was slowly beginning to recover. Over the next decade, people saw a steady increase in income and subsequently, the world saw more demand for the concept of “getting more for one’s money”. Particularly in the automotive world, there was a dire lack in vehicles that were anything but ‘simple and functional’. Cue, an emergence of flagship cars from auto companies such as Volkswagen, Chevrolet, and Ford.
Volkswagen in particular at that time were marketing fairly well in small and efficient cars – the Beetle and the Bus – and had built quite the reputation for being reliable, so they wanted a model to be rather more of an “image car”. Through the desire of W. Karmann GmbH, producers of the Beetle Cabriolet for VW, the Karmann Ghia concept was born.
Chrysler contracted with the Italian styling and coach building firm of, aptly named, Ghia, to build a series of “image cars”. Some of these cars were ultimately produced, but one car that did not make it to production ended up benefiting Volkswagen substantially. That car would eventually become the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. While Chrysler worked with Ghia, Volkswagen contracted with the German coach builder, Karmann to build their “image” car, and Karmann, in need of a design, approached Ghia and somehow the old Chrysler design resurfaced and was modified to fit the floorpan of the VW Beetle.
The Karmann Ghia was first designed by Italian coach-builder Carrozzeria Ghia in the early 1950s. It was a joint project with German car manufacturer Volkswagen, who provided the chassis and mechanical components. The car’s design was intended to be a sleek and stylish sports car, with a low-slung body, curved roofline, and distinctive rear end.
The first Karmann Ghia prototypes were created in 1953, and the car went into production in 1955. It was manufactured by Wilhelm Karmann GmbH at their factory in Osnabrück, Germany. Often dubbed the “poor man’s Porsche”, the Karmann Ghia was based on the Volkswagen Beetle, but it had a distinctive body design that set it apart from its more utilitarian counterpart.
In 1969, the Karmann Ghia was named one of the most beautifully designed products in the world, and it is good to see that that still holds up for many people today!
Popularity and Legacy of the Karmann Ghia
The Karmann Ghia was an instant success when it was first introduced, especially amongst starry-eyed Americans who wanted to cruise around in something cool. It was stylish, affordable, and fun to drive, and it quickly became a favourite of car enthusiasts around the world. Over the years, the car went through several design changes and upgrades, including a larger rear window, a longer wheelbase, and more powerful engines.
The first Karmann Ghia prototypes were created in 1953, and the car was in production from 1955 until 1974, with a total of over 445,000 units manufactured.

Lately I am thinking a lot about music from my youth. And I also noticed that I tend to have focused a lot on english songs. But a lot of music that made the soundtrack of my life wasn't english. And italian is very close to my heart, not only is it the language of my grandparents, it is, in my opinion, the most romantic language of all (sorry, french 😉). I understand it okay, but I admit, to my shame, that my italian is flawed to say it gently. But I understand the general meaning and it is easy for me to go deeper if I need specific words. Which brings me to Eros. He was everywhere in the late 80's and 90's. Together with other italian artists, he was omnipresent in the charts in my country back then. And this song is one of my absolute favorites. And lately, someone special made me think of this song again. It resurfaced like the dawn of a new day so 😊 Yeah yeah, I see myself out.. hihi
