Seen here at the stop outside the university shopping precinct (and where also the bridge has been demolished) on Oxford Road on either a 142 or 143 service to Piccadilly Gardens bus station in Manchester city centre is this Sharston-based Dennis Trident with ALX400 bodywork. It was new to Stagecoach Busways in 1999, but quickly moved to Manchester, due to vandalism to the batch, where it has remained ever since. It currently wears the old version of the magic bus livery.
With the new greener emissions rules coming into force onto the Oxford Road bus corridor soon, this vehicle will not meet the grade, and will therefore most likely be transferred out of Manchester - the first time this bus has ever done so in all its 16+ years - or scrapped!
Here we have the upper deck of ALX400 Dennis Trident - ex-Busways - on Magic Bus service 142 to the eloquent suburbs of East Didsbury. Here she is in the, although sunny, not quite so elegent Rusholme. Both are accessed through the Wilmslow Road. For a 16 year old, she is relatively still smartly presented.
