keep saying to myself must stop taking pictures of this bird...but, her magnetism pulls me in time and time again...

Detailed photos of the newly released Limited Edition Anna 17'' Doll. She was purchased at my local Disney Store on release day, March 3, 2015. She is #0962 of 5000.

She is in the green outfit she wears at the ending scenes of the movie. It is the same outfit as the skating outfit, except that there are ice skating blades added to her boots. Her outfit has a grayish green satin bodice that has has jewels in its border. Under that is a sheer blue organza blouse, which has heart shaped clasps in the collar. The most impressive part of her outfit is her olive green felt skirt, that is jeweled and has rosemaling on along the hemline. The green satin hem is also jeweled. The skirt has a pleated panel in the front and the back, that when expanded makes the skirt much wider. Underneath is a thin tulle petticoat, that isn't stiff enough to help keep the skirt full. She has no underwear except for the painted on panties. She has light olive green boots, with the same embossed pattern as the boots of the Snow Gear Anna dolls. The entrance to Arendelle Castle is the background image in the box.

She has shiny pearly skin, but otherwise has a normal skin tone. She has dual braids similar to the LE Snow Gear Anna doll, but the braids are thicker and they have the addition of tinsel to make them sparkle. The tinsel consists of copper foil coiled around a black thread. On my doll a considerable amount of the tinsel has separated from the top of her hairdo, and makes her hair look messy or frizzy.

This doll is by far my favorite of all the Frozen LE dolls in this release.

Detailed photos of the Disney Film collection Belle Doll, from the live action Beauty and the Beast film. She is 11.5 inches tall, has golden heels, is wearing a glittering yellow ball gown with satin under skirt and tulle petticoat. It is very full and floor length. She has the 2012 style Disney Princess body, with hinge jointed knees and ball jointed ankles. My doll came severely bow legged, so I put a clear rubber band around her knees to keep her legs together after deboxing.

I show her boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed.

Volvo P1800

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The Volvo P1800 is a two-door, two-passenger, front-engine, rear-drive sports car manufactured and marketed by Volvo Cars as a coupe (1961-73) and shooting-brake (1972-73).

While the P1800 was more of a stylish touring car rather than a sports car when it came to its speed capabilities, the P1800 first became popular when it was featured as the main car driven by Roger Moore in the hit television series The Saint which aired from 1962-1969.

The P1800 featured styling by Pietro Frua and mechanicals derived from Volvo's Amazon/122 series."

In 1998, a P1800 was certified as the highest mileage private vehicle driven by the original owner in non-commercial service — having exceeded three million miles (over 4.8 million km) as of 2013."

(...)

"The project was originally started in 1957 because Volvo wanted a sports car to compete in the US & European markets, despite the fact that their previous attempt, the P1900, had failed to take off with only 68 cars sold.

The man behind the project was an engineering consultant to Volvo, Helmer Petterson, who in the 1940s was responsible for the Volvo PV444.

The design work was done by Helmer's son Pelle Petterson, who worked at Pietro Frua at that time. Volvo insisted it was an Italian design by Frua and only in 2009 officially recognized that Pelle Petterson designed it.

The Italian Carrozzeria Pietro Frua design firm (then a recently acquired subsidiary of Ghia) built the first three prototypes between September 1957 and early 1958, (...)"

- P1800

"The engine was the B18 (B for the Swedish word for gasoline: Bensin; 18 for 1800 cc displacement) with dual SU carburettors, producing 100 hp (75 kW). This variant (named B18B) had a higher compression ratio than the slightly less powerful twin-carb B18D used in the contemporary Amazon 122S, as well as a different camshaft.(..."

- 1800S

"As time progressed, Jensen had problems with quality control, so the contract was ended early after 6,000 cars had been built.

In 1963 production was moved to Volvo's Lundby Plant in Gothenburg and the car's name was changed to 1800S (S standing for Sverige, or in English : Sweden).

The engine was improved with an additional 8 hp (6 kW). In 1966 the four-cylinder engine was updated to 115 PS (85 kW). Top speed was 175 km/h (109 mph).

In 1969 the B18 engine was replaced with the 2-litre B20B variant of the B20 giving 118 bhp (89 kW), though it kept the designation 1800S."

- 1800E

"For 1970 numerous changes came with the fuel-injected 1800E, which had the B20E engine with Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection and a revised camshaft, and produced 130 bhp (97 kW) without sacrificing fuel economy.

Top speed was around 190 km/h (118 mph) and acceleration from 0–100 km/h (0–62.1 mph) took 9.5 seconds.

In addition, the 1970 model was the first 1800 with four-wheel disc brakes; until then the 1800 series had front discs and rear drums."

- 1800ES

"Volvo introduced its final P1800 variant, the 1800ES, in 1972 as a two-door station wagon with a frameless, all-glass tailgate.

The final design was chosen after two prototypes had been built by Sergio Coggiola and Pietro Frua.

Frua's prototype, Raketen ("the Rocket", on the right), is located in the Volvo Museum.

Both Italian prototypes were considered too futuristic, and instead in-house designer Jan Wilsgaard's proposal was accepted.

The ES engine was downgraded to 125 bhp (92 kW) by reducing the compression ratio with a thicker head gasket (engine variant B20F); although maximum power was slightly down the engine was less "peaky" and the car's on-the-road performance was actually improved.

The ES's rear backrest folded down to create a long flat loading area. As an alternative to the usual four-speed plus overdrive manual transmission, a Borg-Warner three-speed automatic was available in the 1800ES.

With stricter American safety and emissions standards looming for 1974, Volvo did not see fit to spend the considerable amount that would be necessary to redesign the small-volume 1800 ES.

Only 8,077 examples of the ES were built in its two model years."

"From the beginning, it was the snowlfakes that fascinated me most"

Dubbed as “Snowflake”, Wilson Alwyn Bentley (1865-1931) was a pioneer in snowflake photomicrography. As a child he was fascinated by the natural world, and by the age of 19 he became the first to successfully capture a snowflake photograph with the help of a feather, a microscope and a camera. Bentley photographed thousands of individual snow crystals during his career, some of which we are showcasing in this Public Domain collection. We have digitally enhanced these amazingly detailed photographs of these winter’s wonders for you do download and use under the CC0 license.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan, day 6 of our Cosmos tour, October 5, 2012. We arrived late in the afternoon so didn't see all I wanted to see as we left very early the next morning. So not many good shots as it was too late in the day!

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is the oldest shopping mall in Italy. Housed within a four-storey double arcade in central Milan, the Galleria is named after Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy.

The structure consists of two glass-vaulted arcades intersecting in an octagon covering the street connecting Piazza del Duomo to Piazza della Scala. The street is covered by an arching glass and cast iron roof, a popular design for 19th-century arcades, such as the Burlington Arcade in London, which was the prototype for larger glazed shopping arcades, beginning with the Saint-Hubert Gallery in Brussels (opened in 1847), the Passazh in St Petersburg (opened in 1848), the Galleria Umberto I in Naples (opened in 1890) and the Budapest Galleria.

The central octagonal space is topped with a glass dome. The Milanese Galleria was larger in scale than its predecessors and was an important step in the evolution of the modern glazed and enclosed shopping mall, of which it was the direct progenitor. It has inspired the use of the term galleria for many other shopping arcades and malls.

In the central mosaic, there is a depiction of the bull from Turin Coat of Arms. The tradition tells that if a person put its right heel on the bull's genitals and turn on himself three times, this will bring good luck. This practice causes damage to the mosaic: a hole developed on the place of the bull's genitals.

The Galleria connects two of Milan's most famous landmarks: The Duomo and the Teatro Alla Scala, but the Galleria is a landmark in its own right.

The camera of iphone X never stops amazing me. As they say that the devil is in the detail..

We zoomed in to watch close-up the dynamics of this single active region on the sun over a two-day period (July 14-16, 2018). The loops we are observing in extreme ultraviolet light are illuminated by charged particles spinning along the magnetic field lines above an active region. Active regions are magnetically intense areas that are pushed up to the surface of the sun from below. These regions are often the sources of large eruptions that cause solar storms, though no large eruptions seem to have occurred during this period. To give a sense of scale, these loops are rising up many times the diameter of Earth. Credit: Solar Dynamics Observatory.

It is with great satisfaction that I finally present the result of my most complete and detailed work that I have done to this day in the hobby: the reproduction of the old building of the Santa Casa de Misericórdia of Juiz de Fora-MG, dated 1900.

There were 310h of assembling, distributed in almost 2 years of planning, more than 32000 pieces used in a work with dimensions of 1, 67cm x 0, 98cm x 0, 51cm, weighing about 35kg. I tried to follow the minifigure scale and reproduce, with the building solutions that I could find or develop, the maximum details of the building of the time aiming to accomplish the greatest visual impact possible to the public. Having this concept as a focus, I transformed a work into two, with two completely different points of view. From the front, we can observe the classic hospital building, whole and imposing. Behind it, a cut in the building shows its fragmented interior in different environments and depicting scenes from the old days in a very lively manner. We can perceive in the center a meeting of the Brotherhood, a common group that governs all the Santa Casas, in the Ombudsman's room with a sample of typical furniture of the time, as well as in the corridors of access to the surgical center, wards and pharmacy.

The motivation that led me to reproduce another historical building with LEGO pieces continues to be the awakening of the collective consciousness to the importance of preserving the historical heritage and its cultural legacy. Unfortunately the building reproduced no longer exists, but that isn’t a reason not to value its history and memory. However, for this case, a special motivation facilitated the work: the celebration of the 165 years of the founding of the Santa Casa de Misericórdia of Juiz de Fora and the 170 years of the city of Juiz de Fora-MG, my beloved homeland.

The next step, as laborious as building the sculpture, will be organizing an exhibition inside the hospital that shows not only LEGO pieces, but also its playful potential to inspire people to know their own story. Coming soon!

Ultra–detailed surreal character standing in a misty graffiti-covered alley. The character wears a distressed red steampunk cap with goggles, metallic face designs, white painted skin, and layered fabric wraps. Long silver jewelry pieces subtly catch the light as they sway. Camera slowly rotates around the figure in a dramatic close-up, revealing glowing red reflections from neon signs in the background. Fog moves rhythmically like smoke. Graffiti colors flicker like burning paint. The character slowly lifts their head and eyes toward the camera with a haunting, confident stare. Cinematic lighting, high contrast, gritty textures, 8K, dramatic depth of field, ethereal urban fantasy mood
