The town where Kafkaesque dystopia meets Orwellian dystopia.

"Orwellian" describes a society characterized by authoritarian control, surveillance, and manipulation of information, while "Kafkaesque" refers to a situation or experience that is nightmarishly complex, bizarre, and illogical, often involving bureaucratic absurdity.

This is for the theme of Exploration in the Flickr birthday photo challenge. This was taken in 2021 when we took a family trip to Idaho. This was the end of a difficult hike that I and my two oldest (pictured) took to the Darby Wind Caves. It was a difficult hike with lots of elevation. I was so proud of the kids. You know, I started this challenge thinking I would be using it as inspiration for new photos and it seems I’ve mainly been uploading from the archives. Not really my plan but oh well.

This is probably not the best photo to describe what I'm about to say...

But I once read it somewhere...

"It doesn't matter how strong... or what direction the wind is blowing...

You can always adjust your sail... to reach your destination..."

I'll never forget that quote...
