Still in my garden.

Scam or mistake - you decide! This relates to copyright accusation (libellous) on my original photo 'G'Day' of this same flower on my photostream where someone is trying to claim it as theirs.

This photograph here is also of the same flower, taken as the EXIF data shows - exactly 2 and a half minutes after the first, but from a slightly different angle.

Did the person alleging copyright breach take this one also? If they think someone with a 90% sight loss is an easy touch - that would be a mistake.

I have also added on my photostream a photo of the same flower *G'Day 2* taken just now after the accusation with the same yellow dogwood and rose leaves. In this one the dahlia is looking tired.

You can see the original accusation and my responses on my original photo here.

I love standing waiting for the storms and squalls to approach, watching everyone else leave the beach. I just get so absorbed in trying to capture all the drama that i forget about the imminent soaking. Deciding whether to run for cover or not is usually a last second spur of the moment thing.I usually just turn my back, cover the camera and wait , while the hail bounces off and all around me. Deciding to Run is by Richmond Fontaine, sometimes I'll run to a cliff or cave .

I decide to try and balance some really round pebbles yesterday, but it was too windy and they kept falling over. I did find this lovely stone with an ammonite, and I thought it looked a bit like an eye. I play this game on the iPad with my granddaughter called Monument Valley, it's really beautiful, and on one level the girl needs the help of a friend, who looks very similar to this, a rectangular column with an eye at the top.! So the title has to be Friend of mine from The National.

Blue Tit deciding where to eat today. He has a choice of five feeders... Fat Balls or Sunflowers Seed... or even Peanut Butter.

Sometimes I decide to take a walk to find inspiration and to discover the beauty of urban growth. I know it's a bit early to search for actual flowers, but I did discover some Winter plants in full bloom. Perhaps the early warm days without snow has made nature wake up. This week I have also been hearing birds chirp at 6am..perhaps in a hunt for a female!

I wish a lovely Friday and coming weekend to all my friends. Thank you so much for your support and astonishing comments!!

I planned a trip to Alaska last year. The borders closed. COVID. Oh well. Maybe next year.

It was now next year. After months and months and probably a few more months of planning; reading maps; calculating kilometres into miles; picking destinations; researching absolutely everything; deciding on rental vehicle versus our new truck; procuring supplies; weighing the cons/pros of total off grid with a tent amongst the bears versus hotel/cabin accommodations amongst tourists; reading reviews; with all the planning behind us, it finally came down to packing the truck. I was like a child at Christmas. I was giddy with excitement!

I know how to pack. When it comes to packing, I am the one!

I am a minimalist so it is easy! However, we were going to Alaska. There was so much that we needed - just in case…

My husband Philip, and I began with great enthusiasm to pack the truck - then we unpacked it. Then we packed it - then we unpacked it. If I was liar I would tell you that we didn’t pack it again only to unpack it for the third time. I am not a liar.

I was ready to pack this holiday in! I broke down and said I wasn’t going. It took me months to get here and now I couldn’t pack the truck?!? After a few minutes we packed the truck

again - only to unpack it one more.

It was midnight. We were leaving at four in the morning. We went to bed. I woke up two hours later and discovered that I did not have a Fairy Godmother that should have, with a twist of her wand, turned the truck into the outfitted carriage that would take us successfully into our journey.

I backed the truck onto the driveway and packed it up again. Philip woke up two hours later and came out to find everything scattered on the driveway. I prayed my neighbours could not hear the choice words that emitted from my mouth. We started from the beginning. We unpacked all the boxes of food, toiletries, dog paraphernalia (Oh yes! We took our German Shepherd, Jager too!), clothing, blankets, pillows and cooking supplies. We got all our suitcases out from storage and packed our clothes into smaller suitcases. Then we unpacked them again and then repacked them for the third time into even smaller carry-on suitcases! We did not need a lot of clothes. We could wear the same jeans till they disintegrated from our bodies.

Who cared - we were going to Alaska.

I don’t know how we did it, but as the sky glowed pink with the promise of a gorgeous sunrise, Philip and I sat in our packed truck. Jager was nestled in the backseat and Philip and I held hands and asked the good Lord to be with us as we set out on another adventure. I felt so fortunate as I backed out of the driveway and pointed the truck North - to Alaska.

I just love holidays!

People just decide that their boat isn't worth it anymore, they dump it or maybe it breaks down. According to CJ a local boat captain it costs they county about 15k to remove these boats and they only have a budget each year of 85K. So, when these owners determine enough is enough for them, they remove the VIN numbers and anything of value and let the rest of us pick up the mess. I really dislike people like that. Best part.... If you look at the name of the boat close up... Integrity.

This is the last shot of a series of three I took in de dunes of Ameland, a beautiful Dutch island. I took them at the same spot, but from slightly different angles. At that moment I couldn't decide which composition was the best, I still can't.......maybe I doesn't matter.....

The Pelican virtuoso has decided to perform in front of his peers, and it’s a real show! Who would have thought that fish could be so fascinating in mid-air ? Now, he’s the master of ceremonies at the lagoon, juggling a fish as if it were a circus ball. The other pelicans are enchanted, and some are even starting to learn a few tricks to rival the virtuoso. But beware, this fish might just be the most unpredictable partner in the show…

Who knows, maybe we’ll soon see an avian juggling festival with flying fish ? 😉

Will someone please say the unsayable?

Will someone please tell me I'm wrong?

I live every day like a sad beast of prey

For I have to appear to be strong

And that's wrong

I'm too weak to be strong

Today I met with the generals

And the head of my secret police

Discussing conspiracies and prison facilities

For opponents I can never release

And there'll be no peace

Until they're released

Of course I'm in league with the army

It's not like I've got any choice

They officially adore me and my father before me

But gunpoint has a firm voice

The joke is I'm not even a demagogue

Have you heard me giving a speech?

My facts are invented

I sound quite demented

So deluded it beggars belief

It would be such a relief

Not to give another speech

Can someone please say the impossible?

Crowds should be out on the street

I've lost any will to threaten or kill

I'll be easy for you to defeat

And any resistance I meet

I'll beat a retreat

I'd rather that you didn't shoot me

But I'd quite understand if you did

Watch out for the army

The generals will go barmy

At the thought of a takeover bid

Oh please will somebody put me

Out of my misery?

This sad old dictator must sooner or later

Flee so that you can be free

If you get rid of me

We can all be free

Hank will spend hours in the garden hunting butterflies. Unfortunately, for him, fortunately, for the butterflies, he isn't much of a hunter. Not only does sit in plain sight of all and sundry but when he does decide to make an attack it has all the grace of a charging rhino. No sneaking up on something for this fellow but rather a full out run for the finish. Oh well keeps him amused and the garden visitors safe.

I couldn't decide between my levitation shot or this "kung-fu" shot. Im sure this shot had the cattle, off camera-left, just rolling with laughter. I just always wanted to shoot one of these jump shots. This was about my 9th attempt. The first eight caught me with some pretty ridiculous face and body poses.

Since deciding that drawing with pencils was something I should do, I have been sharing my work with you' This is the last one for now - I must motivate myself to get away from the camera and computer more often!

Finally recovered from being sick and was able to go out and find some foliage yesterday - I explored Olmsted Park, Jamaica Pond, and the Arboretum. Fall color is starting to get going, though most of the trees were still green.

I'm sad that I missed my planned hike in New Hampshire a week ago due to illness, but now that I'm recovered I can try to find fall color in the Boston area. I have a whole list of places to try and it's hard to decide between them - if you see any particularly good spots, let me know!

This lovely female Painted-bunting has been hanging out for a couple of days. Today is the first time I was successful in getting a few shots of her. I had no idea what she was until I looked at the images. Then to be sure I had to post a couple of images and ask some birder people for an ID. I must say she certainly knows how to blend into her surroundings.

A male has come to visit for the last two years for a couple of days. I have not seen a male in the yard this year but I will certainly be on the lookout. He will be easier to ID because of his colors.

I can always make a wish so here goes... I hope that Mr. and Mrs. Painted-bunting visit my yard and decide to come back in the fall. Once they get here, I hope they decide this is a great place to stay for the winter. And so they stay and allow me to take lots of photos. Hey, it could happen.

I hope you are having a delightful day/night. Happy snapping.

Like many trucks at Dave's Old Truck Rescue in Sprague, WA, this truck can't decide what color it wants to be.

took a bunch of the gate today.. and i can't decide on a potd.. so i will wait til tomorrow to decide. posted a bunch of them in the mean time.

liked the light, reflection and the rocks in this one.

anywho.. hope your tuesday was a good one. off to finally see what you have been up too. been awhile.

This whale had slapped its tail powerfully multiple times. The water droplets generated at any instant of the move were spectacular. While photographing whales, one needs to decide to capture the tail, hump, flipper and blowhole or breaching (which occurs rarely and suddenly). This whale did breach and my lens was too close and my frame was filled with water droplets.
