Omdat de montage van een Mikuni caburateur een stuk lastiger is dan het monteren van een 19mm Bing heb ik daar een adaptor voor gemaakt om een goede mechanische verbinding te krijgen met de trechterbuis. Hierbij het resultaat. Nu alleen nog monteren op de Dapp en dan kijken of de carburateur netjes op zijn plaats blijft zitten.

The sun was a bit bright to take this, in reality, but the bokeh was hard to resist.
This was the one 10-minute period over the bank holiday weekend when the sun actually shone.
The angle was deliberate, obviously. Far too early in the day for me to have been on the wine, bank holiday or not. ;)

Polymer cane slices riveted (with polymer rivets) to dapped and stamped squares of copper-clad steel plumber's tape. My first "production" pieces -- they're still one of a kind, but I made all the components in batches and then assembled the pairs in one work session.

In 15th century England, anglers didn’t use reels at all: They simply tied a braided horsehair line to the tip of a long rod. (Dapping and Tenkara operate on the same principle.) But by the 18th century, small brass “winches,” attached to the rod’s base by a spike or clamp, were being made in British toolmakers’ shops. Fly reels progressed from brass, to wood, to hard rubber and nickel silver, and then on to today’s lightweight magnesium or aluminum. Though materials changed over the years, modern reels remain strikingly similar to their early ancestors. The reels shown here are from the “Angler’s All” exhibit at the American Museum of Fly Fishing in Manchester, Vermont.
This is how I do tricky saw work....instead of using a bench pin, (which is too high to look straight down on....and is not tiltable or otherwise adjustable....I use this set-up. That is a small Boley vise mounted vertically to the top drawer of my bench (the left side) . That is a 3" square sheet of 1/8" copper, with a little 'piercing port' cutout-out right there at the front, center. By placing the shank of variously sized dapping punches underneath the copper before tightening down the vise jaws...different angles of tilt are acheived. The top drawer of my bench is capable of being 'locked up' with two of the same hardwood wedges that are used in traditional wood ring clamps. This wholeset-up makes for a rock solid platform for 'ergonomic piercing'.
The 12" x 12" sheet of brass under my saw is my "tax collector" ....this is moved constantly around my bench.....always being placed directly underneath whatever I'm working on that is shedding gold....except polishing 'waste'. Once a year I drive about 60 miles to have it reduced to an ingot....assayed....and purchased....all right before my watchful eyes. The guy that does this superb thing is a rarity. Trust is hard thing to have in the world of gold refining/recycling! ANYWAY....the check I get pays my federal income tax liabilty.....

This series of resin pendants were inspired by a sheet of reproductions of vintage matchbook cover art. I thought it would be really cute to pair the matchbooks with actual matches and embed them into resin
They are made from brass with Ice Resin and various found objects, brass components, bits of paper, match sticks, and glass beads. The resin is crystal clear, and very reflective, and amplifies the collage inside the brass pendant with amazing detail. Unfortunately, they are so reflective, they are a bit hard for me to photograph, but I love each one dearly!
This pendant was made from a raw brass frame pendant, which was heated with flame to give it interesting coloration. Some of the pendants in this series were also hand domed with a hammer and dapping block. The pendant was then carefully filled with the paper and found object bits and covered with a water-like layer of crystal clear resin.
