Always something happening and nothing going on
There's always something cooking and nothing in the pot (Lennon, nobody told me). I am not sure whether it is fair to apply these lines to my village, but they happened to come to my mind when shooting this street scene. Helios 44M-7 wide-open.
I had this photo for a long time on my Flickr pre-selection.
It is not great, but I liked the colors and shapes. This is Fields in Copenhagen, our local mall just across the street.
I am not necessarily fond of shopping centers in general, but this is still a warm and welcoming place which was full of wonderful people yesterday when a crazy young guy opened fire on them for no reason.
Thoughts are with the victims and their families ❤️

I'm almost totally ignorant about roses, but this is one of the old-fashioned, hrm, not singlet blooms but not the massive multi-layered hybrids either. This one is growing in the Cambria Historic Society garden, which is intended (I think) to reflect gardening here in the early days. I'd be happy to hear from rose experts!

Wet days are miserable days. The wattlebird has to eat no matter what the weather and her expression says everything you need to know.
With the final days of Golden Mile Complex in sight, the once bustling basement area of shops is now a pale shadow of its former self, with only one or two holdouts holding on till the very end.
As the building dating from the 1970s set to undergo redevelopment in the very near future, places and icons such as the deck area and its surroundings will be somewhat missed.
As the complex is gazetted for conservation by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) however, it will be interesting to see how the new developers will attempt to preserve elements of the building in their new vision.
