You must have ducked down as I took this Jan.
This is a Flickr 'first' because it's the only photo on Flickr using horse manure as a texture !!
I think :o)
If anyone knows different, do please let me know, or maybe not !
Conwy Castle, North Wales
I remember the weekend very well. We had gone to Caernarfon and a trip round Porthmadog for the Festiniog Railway, where I had spent many years as a volunteer helping rebuild the line back to Blaenau Ffestiniog. On the way home I wanted to stop off at Conwy for this very shot. The weather had been glorious all weekend but now it was on the turn and the town lights refused to offer any recompense for the poor natural light.
My grandma had a house for many years in Conwy just off Llanrwst Rd behind the castle. We spent many a summer holiday and weekend breaks there during the 70's and 80's but I haven't been back that many times since her death. I've always loved this place, especially the castle and the three bridges... I remember playing hide and seek in the castle with my twin sister, trying to cross from one tower to another without being seen!
It seems to be a forgotten place these days as the North Wales Expressway (A55) speeds you right by it and under the River Conwy on the way to Anglesey. Miss the turn-off at Llandudno Junction and it’s a distant memory. I’ll go back definitely, but not during this summer with all the staycationers and caravans and motor-homes clogging the roads.
Coming back we visited Ploumanac'h and the côte de granit rose and the famous lighthouse.
Sorry for maybe over doing the lighthouse, but it is magical.

Here is some extra info on the côte de granit rose.

The last of the photos of our boat trip.
Thank you for your favourites.
You may say why its the wrong side of catching her ...
Actually she moves frequently and it was an untold shot..
Anyway ..
Robin, not just any Robin this is a bird watching Robin, it joined us at the hide at Burton Mere RSPB on our day out with the LOS saw there was no food around so turned round and started to watch the birds, just like us :-)
Taken looking towards Christchuch, Dorset. I believe this is a church in the background.
I was out testing my new (old) 70-300 lens so playing around with different focus and aperture settings
As it is Summer...just had to add this one from my other flickr albums...acrylic,pastel and pencils...Brighton
One of the Alpacas, or is this a Llama? I can never tell the difference - anyway, this was taken at Balmoral Show last week and there was a pen full of all different colours of these sweet cuties :)
Finally, Friday at last, of course that's why there's a fence in the background ;-) HFF everyone :) :)
Hope you've all had a good week... Mine has been terrible, but I will survive.... Catch up with you next week.... thankfully, Monday is a holiday here, so it's a long weekend for me :) :)
Thank you so much for all the lovely messages and comments on yesterday's Robin picture :)
