Dali est l'ancienne capitale du Royaume de Nanzhao (viiie et ixe siècles) et du Royaume de Dali (937-1253). Au xiiie siècle, toute la province tombe sous la coupe des Mongols de la dynastie Yuan. Plus tard, Dali a également été le centre de la révolte du sultan Du Wenxiu contre la dynastie Qing. Cette révolte, connue en chinois sous le nom de Du Wenxiu Qiyi (ææç§èµ·ä¹), a duré de 1856 à 1873.

La ville de Dali est aussi réputée pour les nombreux marbres qu'elle produit et qui servent soit de matériau de construction soit pour fabriquer des objets d'art. De fait, ces marbres sont si célèbres que le mot marbre se dit littéralement en chinois pierre de Dali (chinois: 大çç³, pinyin: Dali shi).

Dali est aujourd'hui une des principales destinations touristiques du Yunnan, Ã mi-chemin entre Kunming et Lijiang

I swapped out her legs but recently I decided to give Puki obitsu arms as well. It was a hard decision! But since I entered her into Dalicious it's easier to take photos if she has more expressive hands. ^___^;;

The old lady turned me on to Indian food decades ago and I've been in love with it ever since. Here's my favorite dish: Chicken Tikka Masala (made very spicy hot); Dal Soup (addictive); Basmati Rice (the king of all rices); and Onion Chutney. Forgot to order the Garlic Nan Bread!

Realized I hadn't updated my livejournal profile since around January. I decided to make an updated version of the family mosaic.
