Although the green set has been running the last few weeks I haven't really ventured out on NHN much since work is so behind. After driving by the swamp north of dad's house last night I figured today was the day to shoot it, given the color is at or just past peak. I left work just long enough to get halfway up a tree for this shot of the southbound as they entered the circuit for Hutchins crossing. Short train today with some empty steel mixed in, just enough to keep the rails shining.
1937 DELAGE D8-120 Aerosport Coupe
By Letourneur et Marchand
Developed by Maurice Gaultier, the Luxurious D8 was one of the first vehicles Delage offered after the company turned its focus from building racing cars to production vehicles in the late 1920’s. The dramatic Streamlined coachwork of this Aerosport, crafted by luxury coach builder Letourneur et Marchand, was inspired by the early research of aerodynamicist Jean Andreau. Its design was so highly regarded that an identical example was chosen to represent the French Government in its Automotive display at the 1939 World’s fair in New York.
