Among the many albums and photos that were passed down to me from my Grandma Bertha was this one. It was a bit of a hodge-podge of Hobby and Corlis family photos, postcards and tintypes. I didn't notice any particular order to it all, but I did see lots of scotch tape and Grandma's tight cursive writing with her signature blue ink.

So, SXSW is over. I only went to three shows but I took a CRAPLOAD of pictures at each of them. This is just one of two that I'm posting until I can sort through and touch up the rest. This is Cursive. They put on a really great show. Also, Tim Kasher has some epic neck veins.

I've been really inspired by Mike Joyce's work with Swiss Design band posters lately, so I am attempting to incorporate more Swiss techniques in my band posters.
Despite 21st century, age of computers and electronics, it is somehow easier for me to write by hand. And the better I know the language, the least I need to do so. Or it is just the need to feel your writing, that it is not something virtual, black bugs on the screen that disappear as soon as you turn off the computer.
Not a terribly inspired day ... but I knew that the grapevines in the backyard would hold a few letters of the alphabet. Here's a "P" ... my second choice, a "W" is in the comments.
