Arachtober V: From a 2024 photo visit to the Sophia Sachs Butterfly House in St Louis where we were given access to selected critters from their collection. This gal was a real poser.

The wild herb known as Curly Dock flourishes in the fields of Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge in North Texas.
From the second verse of the Manfred Mann's Earth Band song, Blinded By The Light, ♫ and little Early Pearly came by in his Curly Wurly..♫ I always think of this song when I see these ferns.
She's named Spectacular because when you actually see her, that's the first thing you say, but her nickname is Sassy. She is adorable and so friendly, and of course, very sassy, LOL.
Yesterday was a very fun day, photographing several Gypsy horses for several hours. I was in heaven.
More to come. But this shot, it's one I really wanted to get. One that would show her very curly mane along with her light curls at the bottom of her head and with her mom's body as the background. And that one blue eye. Her left eye is brown.
You can't see any black on her in this photo but she has a little bit of black in her forelock and a little in her adorably curly tail, which is what qualifies her as a tri-color bay.
You will see some full body shots of her soon but I decided to post this one first. She is so adorable and loves to be scratched, especially on her round little butt!
