Die Fivers – WAT Margareten haben beim ÖHB-Cup-Final-Four-Turnier in Krems vor 800 Zusehern das Endspiel erreicht! Der Titelverteidiger gewann am Samstag die Neuauflage des vergangenen Pokal-Finales gegen ULZ Sparkasse Schwaz mit 32:28 (17:11). Zur Erinnerung: Letzte Saison lieferten sich beide Teams im Finale einen heißen Kampf, da gewannen die Fivers erst nach der zweiten Verlängerung mit 33:31. Für die Silberstiere ist damit der Traum von der dritten Finalteilnahme in Serie ausgeträumt. Im Finale treffen die Margaretner am Sonntag (18 Uhr, live in ORF SPORT+) auf den Alpla HC Hard. Die Ländle-Truppe schlug Final-Four-Gastgeber Moser Medical UHK Krems 30:25 (12:12).
Knapp fünf Minuten dauerte es, bis Andrius Rackauskas bei seinem Debüt für die Silberstiere das erste Mal einnetzte. Der Litauer im ULZ-Dress stellte mit seinem Treffer zum 3:1 einen Zwei-Tore-Vorsprung her und war gleichzeitig auch Sinnbild dafür, dass sich die Schwazer durchaus realistische Chancen auf einen erneuten Finaleinzug ausrechneten. Ab Martin Abadirs Tor zum 6:5 in der 11. Minute waren die Wiener aber stets in Führung und bauten ihren Vorsprung sukzessive aus. Bis auf neun Treffer: So geschehen in der 48. Minute, als Martin Abadir zum 29:20 traf. Die Silberstiere, bei denen Aigner (Schulteroperation) verletzt fehlte und einige Spieler angeschlagen (u.a. Hoflehner und Stockbauer) waren, wehrten sich nach Kräften, kamen am Schluss auch noch etwas ran, musste sich aber schlussendlich doch mit vier Toren geschlagen geben.
Im zweiten Halbfinale hielt Gastgeber Krems Hard zu Beginn in Schach und führte mit zwei Toren (5:3). Ab dem 8:7 in der 20. Spielminute entwickelte sich ein enges Spiel. Da warf Marko Tanaskovic die Vorarlberger erstmals nach dem 1:0 in Führung (8:7). Doch die Wachhauer schlugen zurück (10:9 durch Gerdas Babarskas) und lieferten den Roten Teufeln bis zur 41. Minute einen offenen Schlagabtausch: Marko Krsmancic Tor zur 20:19-Führung brachte Hard auf die Siegerstraße. Bei Krems, das einige Chancen vergab, riss der Faden und die Gäste zogen bis zur 45. Minute auf 23:19 davon. Es sollte die Vorentscheidung gewesen sein.

05.07 -- Photo by SONJ -- The 21st Annual Perlman Cup was held at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe, NJ. This event included an 18-hole tournament and a clinic hosted by a NJ PGA Pro. Female golfers of all ability levels, including Special Olympic New Jersey athletes, enjoyed a beautiful day of sunshine on the course.
This just in: The giant toddler that is rampaging Sesame Street has just devoured Abby! Her fairy magic had no effect on the beast who was reported as stating that Abby was, quote: "Mmmm, Yummy!"

Photo A Day: May 4 | in my cup
Having forgotten to take a shot during my regular morning coffee, I dropped everything I was doing (since I was going to be busy with family all day) and made myself another cup. So what's in my cup? Instant coffee; rare but it happens once in a while. With cinnamon added for zing.
Cups carved into the top of a table or simply an artefact of geology from a time before the deposits became stone? They may even be enhanced imperfections!
I wonder if natural 'cups' were ever used in the way that man made cups were used? Cups fill up with water leading some people to suggest that they were carved as part of a cult of water. I'm not so taken by this idea as there are many ways to rejoice water with healthy springs being most apt. Water could be removed with a sponge made of moss and the cup becomes a flexible boundary to illustrate conversation, inter reaction and exchange. A flexibility to change function between situation and date would also allow them to be used for the ornamentation of rites of passage and season.
