Built to commemorate the 2002 World Cup which South Korea jointly hosted, the World Cup Park in Mapo-gu, is actually five parks built on top of an old landfill. For the active Haneul Park is the highest, accessed by 285 steps and has stunning views of the surrounding area. Noeul Park, features lots of open grassland, and perhaps uniquely among Seoul’s parks allows barbeques as well as camping. For anyone put off by the steps leading to these parks, fear not, there is an electric shuttle bus service running between them.

I took pictures of just about every cup, saucer, mug and plate that I own and ended up using a trio of heirlooms. There were 9 little 'cakes' in the pack when I started taking pictures just after lunch...and above...what was left by this evening when I finally made up my mind on my entry :-)
On May 9, 2023, the 26th annual Perlman Cup took place at Forsgate Country Club. This golf outing for women and is designed to accommodate beginners as well as experienced golfers. Dedicated to the memory of Bessie Cutter Perlman, the mother of Special Olympics New Jersey, this event honors her commitment to individuals with intellectual disabilities and her hope for a more inclusive community.

Well, not quite...
but it was the 10th of April, in Rome, and I cast a spell on the cup: "You'll be back. Soon!"
After spending the night of April 26 at Fruita Campground, Capitol Reef National Park, Utah, Steve and I got an early start that gave us plenty of time to make many stops along the scenic Notom-Bulfrog Road. We took many photos, made a number of short hikes to enjoy the views from higher vantage points, and spent some time looking at the wildflowers. We turned off the Notom-Bullfrog Road and drove the Burr Trail and beyond. More about that with photos as time allows. IMG_1748

Am 13. April fand der 1. Mathe-Cup, ein Teamwettbewerb für Schüler der Sekundarstufe 1 und 2 an der Natur- und Lebenswissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität Salzburg statt. Etwa 650 Schüler wetteiferten um Geld und Sachpreise.

This used to be my mum's "better" coffee set for guests, and now it's mine. Beautiful, gold decorated cups and saucers, probably from the 50s or 60s. They don't make dainty cups like these any more!
