I go to turn on my desktop PC only to find that absolutely nothing happens when I hit the switch. Nada, not even a flick(e)r. On with the head torch, under the desk we go.

Mains/AC power is good, pop the side panel off to see if somethings's gone boom, can't see anything... but I can get a faint smell of matches. I started to climb out from under the desk, and when I'm looking away from the computer (with the head torch pointed away too) I can see intermittent sparking(!) coming from F_USB2. I pulled out the backplane USB sockets connected to it, push the "go" button, and hey presto! She boots.

I'm reasonably savvy with these things - I built the machine, after all - and I could have missed this easily. I wouldn't mind, but there wasn't anything plugged into the USB ports connected to that socket!

What's this? You're welcome to make a guess. It's color is grey. It has a label on the top (the font is only readable if you zoom the picture) which tells "olivetti"

This flat spider (family Hersiliidae) is known to have exceptional camouflage technique. It usually sits on a tree bark with pattern and color similar to its own. The spider takes another step to avoid detection by pressing itself very close to the surface thus casting little or no shadow. It has 2 long spinnerets which resembles 2 long tails.

Lulworth Skipper was the last of the non-cryptic species of butterfly to be described in Britain. It was discovered at Durdle Door in Dorset by J.C.Dale in 1832. Perhaps surprisingly, it still occurs in the very same spot 180 years later.

It has one of the most restricted distributions, being confined largely to south Dorset (and formerly adjacent east Devon). The population is relatively stable in Britain but it is declining rapidly in the northern part of its European, and is already extinct in the Netherlands. Its caterpillars feed on Tor Grass (Brachypodium pinnatum), which is the grass that this one happens to be sitting on.

Its Latin name Actaeon was a Greek hunter who surprised Artemis while she was bathing. Artemis then turned him into a stag and he was killed by his own hounds.

Sphindus sp., I believe. Found at Bastrop State Park in central Texas, ESE of Austin. Bastrop County, Texas, USA.

There are a lot of downed trees at this State Park and I saw a lot of slime molds on my recent visit. Many of the slime mold fruiting bodies were being grazed upon by these beetles.

The sculptures on the sandstone pillars of Healy Hall, at least some of them, had lost their detailed shapes over a century’s rain and wind. But it also added so much evidence of this place’s history, and perhaps even a hint of a unique character.

When I lived in Mitte it was a scrappy neighborhood of quiet residences and flagrant dissent. While it lacked the flamboyant attack-the-police weekend celebrations of Kreuzberg, it was still a bubbling stewpot of social conscience and utopian dreams. Squatters' houses were abundant, bright and strange and promising a whiff of danger. There were dreams in the air.

Now Mitte is the East Village of Berlin, shiny and trendy and full of sparkle and profit. It's bizarre to try to find my old town after 11 years away. Bits and pieces survive; this besetzt Haus on Linienstrasse is still there, decorated with the same art and political slogans now as it was then. I'm so glad to see it that my eyes get a little damp.

So did the revolution die, or did it just get comfy and decide to settle in a bit?

This is the 3rd sign like this ive seen. I cant quite figure out if this is a puzzle. Clearly a local Artists current theme but does it have a hidden meaning/message. Have a look at the closeup version to see the sign more clearly.
