This is the Photograph for Week Forty-Two of my Project 52. I'd gone out to shoot a roll of Ilford XP2 (C41 Black & White Film) in order to assess how it performs under Cross-Processing as E6 for positives. It's perhaps a stop underexposed, but a good result nonetheless.

In general, the graffiti on the pedestrian bridge is uninspired. It is mainly a collection of tags, with the occasional Sharpie marker sentiment of teenage love. However, the wooden deck of the footbridge boasts some higher-quality graffiti of fine, sinewy lines that stretch over several boards. I liked it.

cross processed - which means that I used slidefilm to take these pictures, but instead of getting them processed into slides, I got them processed into prints. This makes for a strange chemical reaction, and so the colours, and sometimes the textures, can look different
here's a picture from my cross processing days.
that's when you take photos on slide film. I believe this was Fuji Velvia. Then you had it processed C41, which was the regular print negative process. The chemical mismatches led to bizarre and saturated color tones. It was very unpredictable, but it almost always led to something interesting.
I feel spoiled beyond belief that I can now do this just by tweaking a few sliders.

Sometimes I get bored with the usual stuff. Here's a wee abstract take on football, a slight inspiration coming from the work of Stuart Roy Clarke.

I cross processed a roll of Kodachrome 64 tonight. I made a very significant mistake. The entire roll looks like this. What to do? How about a museum matte and hang it on the wall?? Heh heh. I have now read and discovered that it can't be done..
