Being pleased with the unexpectedly high level of the museum restaurant, I impulsively purchased a crystal ball for photography at the museum shop. When I got home and looked at the pictures, I realized the need for a hand model. It was a weekend spent doing such things. (This photo is cropped so that the hands do not appear too much)

I love the sight of sun blessed fields of wispy-haired barley in rolling countryside.

Sorry for cropped framing. This was my first test with the Mitutoyo 5X microscope lens.

Pentax 200mm (as a tube lens) gives 5X and that was too much for the grasshopper. Also weak at corners. Later on changed the 200mm with a Raynox DCR-150

Apparently all the pumpkins in the world are being grown on a field in Surrey! Amazing sight of thousands upon thousands of pumpkins ready for the supermarket's Halloween displays!

I am pretty sure that I took a photo of this same field this spring before the crops were planted.

This is a two photo stitch made in ICE.

Sometimes, there’s no hope for a trip, yet the trip brings views. A phone, a few clicks in Photoshop, to make sure civilization doesn’t scare

Taken the other evening at ISO 800 and keeping the exposure to 30s, the original was really grainy and noisey, but it cleaned up ok

I found this in an early morning spin near Dallas in Texas, before a meeting. With a little research, it isn't alas from another planet, but rather a 1960's vision of what the future home should look like. 100 or so of these, based on the designs of a Finnish architect were built at the time, less than 50 remain around the world. The idea is that the home could be easily assembled and disassembled, so it could move with the owners, working equally well as a beach chalet, a cabin in the woods or a ski chalet.

This one has been completely gutted and vandalized, but if you look closely, you'll see an alien indoors. See below for a link to one in Munich by spatz_2011 (Uschi) that is in pristine condition. This is the part of Flickr, I love. Danke, Uschi and here's the link to Uschi's picture everybody.
