Nearly 200 students from Headland, Brantley, Luverne, and Crenshaw Christian Academy schools attended Farm Safety Day coordinated and hosted by the Crenshaw County Conservation District on Thursday, September 22, 2016. The event was held at the Tom Harbin Ag Center in Luverne. The Alabama Forestry Commission, Alabama Farmers Federation, Sun South, Haynes Medical, Alabama Extension Cooperative, and Cities of Brantley and Luverne were on hand to teach students about various facets of safety precautions on the farm or at home. Troy firefighter, Curtiss Shaver, shared his personal story of losing part of his leg at age 18 in a farm-related accident. He said the way local firefighters and paramedics came to his aid following the accident motivated him to join their ranks.
Aka known as Big Boy at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah. I'm his proud grandma now after my daughter and son in law adopted him. He's 22 lbs. of love! He's "special needs" as he's FIV positive after he was taken off of the mean streets of Atlanta, GA. He's doing great and is very athletic for such a big guy.
C'è stato un momento
davanti a quel palco
che ho sentito le mani vibrare
per la nostalgia
e per un attimo, i miei occhi
si sono riempiti di lacrime..
Come mi manca cantare,
come l'aria..
- E dopo queste foto la mia Nikon, è morta.
Quasi a suggerirmi che anche il mio sogno, ormai, è appassito -
In attesa di poter fare fotografie *
