Saved by bus. Pitch black, on a lonely road by the sea, the last bus of the night, at the last bus stop on the line. Oh how I heart you Metro!

Nearly 200 students from Headland, Brantley, Luverne, and Crenshaw Christian Academy schools attended Farm Safety Day coordinated and hosted by the Crenshaw County Conservation District on Thursday, September 22, 2016. The event was held at the Tom Harbin Ag Center in Luverne. The Alabama Forestry Commission, Alabama Farmers Federation, Sun South, Haynes Medical, Alabama Extension Cooperative, and Cities of Brantley and Luverne were on hand to teach students about various facets of safety precautions on the farm or at home. Troy firefighter, Curtiss Shaver, shared his personal story of losing part of his leg at age 18 in a farm-related accident. He said the way local firefighters and paramedics came to his aid following the accident motivated him to join their ranks.

Marshall Crenshaw and the Bottle Rockets headlined the final night of Twangfest 17 at the Duck Room on June 8, 2013. The Bottle Rockets also performed a full set, and Chicago's Dolly Varden opened the show.

This is when I first noticed the giant mushroom ficus trees of Inglewood. All the street trees are trimmed into this shape.
