One autumn night, as golden leaves gently fell to the ground, a strange creature emerged from the depths of the forest. This was no ordinary pony, but "Franckeistein Poney," a mystical being created centuries ago by an eccentric scientist from pieces of different horses. Long abandoned by his creator, the pony now wandered the woods, searching for a place where he might find a semblance of peace.
That evening, he came upon a small campsite lit by string lights hung between the trees. A soft warmth radiated from a crackling campfire amidst the stacked logs. Drawn by the light and warmth, Franckeistein Poney timidly approached, his stitched-together body betraying a life marked by solitude.
He stood at the edge of the campsite, watching the dancing flames. The silence was thick with mystery, broken only by the rustling leaves beneath his hooves. For the first time in a long while, the pony felt a sense of belonging, even if only in the shadows and the firelight. He stayed there, savoring the moment, warming himself in the fire's glow under the watchful gaze of the stars above.

We had four or five inches of snow last night so I thought it would be appropriate to show this winter photo taken in 2007 at Bear Lake, Idaho. Wind had forced ice on shore where it was pushed up in great piles of fantastic shapes. I think this looks like some sort of ice creature watching the frozen lake. The moving ice scraped the sandy beach planting contrasting "fur" on its chest. I can't decide what this is. Any ideas?
This was scanned from a slide as part of my project to digitize my old photos.
This is one of those little glazed porcelain animal figurines given away free by a certain tea company in boxes of tea, and this is supposed to be a budgie. It looks more like some sort of Creature From The Black Lagoon relative...
Before heading back, I found this little creature there standing for me so I could take a picture of him. Always grateful for new photo opportunities.
Thank you all for your appreciation.

Soooo I took enough of a break from Witcher 3 to actually build something for a community display a few weeks back. Only got around to taking pictures yesterday, but here he is! The Royal Griffin, a.k.a. the first creature you meet in-game, awesome, majestic, grand and...not so awesome on Death March -__-
It's definitely my largest creature build to date, and a real satisfying at that despite the number of revisions and changes this guy had to go through. Had a blast with the base and rocks too.
I'd love to tackle a Leshen or Fiend build sometime in the future...but for now...back to looting stuff. *scoots*

I find it hard to choose a favourite novel, being a librarian. But one I've read several times and whose story is inspiring is Tracy Chevalier's "Remarkable Creatures". Mary Anning was a fossil finder and collector in England during the days women were unlikely to be scientists. So while I don't have an ichthyosaur I do have a fossil shell. Mary Anning combed the cliffs of Lyme Regis for many years upsetting the church and science! So my photo has beach pebbles and fossils. It must have taken a keen eye to spot the fossilized creatures in those cliffs and near the sea. www.tchevalier.com/remarkablecreatures/story/

Practicing spinning up these creatures. Loads of fun. I'm going to start a series of these. With someone who couldn't make it out tonight. I just couldn't resist.
Please view large to see the snail, my camera is not capable of good zoom, and this is exactly how I found this image!
The shy creature is a European ground squirrel. I took this photo at the zoo at Nuernberg, Germany. The ground squirrels aren't really zoo animals but they seem to feel very much at home there. This one lives in the enclosure of the rhinoceros but I have seen them in many other enclosures too. They are probably not very popular among zoo personnel as they dig tunnels everywhere.
Even though they are omnipresent it's quite difficult to take photos of them as they are tiny, very fast, extremely shy and they always tend to hide in the high grass.
if youre reading this, youve survived the holidays. nice. new year, new me, except for the occasional 4am upload whilst eating QFC sushi. dont judge, but my local QFC throws down some half way decent cali rolls available to incompetent cooks such as myself. food poison roulette? maybe. new year though. nice.
