The tanker arrived from Houston (Tx) at this berth at the 5th Haven dock. Here is seen at 15:09h, leaving that berth again to shift to a berth on the left bank of the river Schelde. Having to pass two locks on its way to the new berth, it took the vessel until 19:46h to reach its new berth.

Here it is perorming a 200° turn to portside in order to sail out to the Boudewijn lock.

The 1997 built tanker looks good. I am not sure that this coat of paint dates back from the dry docking at Singapore in the autumn of 2013

“I do believe it is possible to create, even without writing a word or painting a picture, by simply molding one's inner life.”

— Etty Hillesum quoted in “Nine Muses” by Angeles Arrien

"The art of relaxation brings out the power that exists within you. Through relaxation you can experience your infinite capacities. It is the art of making your mind still, and of focusing all your energy on the work you are doing, whatever it may be. Thus you will be able to bring out all your potential. Once you learn this art, everything happens spontaneously and effortlessly. For example, you want to memorize a speech or a poem; so you sit down and relax, dropping everything else from your mind, and you go through the subject just once – not a hundred times while forgoing food and sleep – and you get it, once and for all. It stays with you forever. Within the human mind infinite capacities lie hidden. It can accommodate the entire universe and all the knowledge in it. But we haven’t learned the art of tapping into infinite power of the mind.—Amma, "Awaken Children" , Volume 8

Outlining a Theory of General Creativity .. on a 'Pataphysical way

Entropy ≥ Mimesis . Catharsis ²

Study of the day:

Sommes-nous marionnette ou marionnettiste ?

Agissons-nous par mimesis ou par catharsis ?

We are puppet or puppeteer ?

We are acting by mimesis or by catharsis ?

If we were only actors we would play alone for an empty theater. If we were only spectators, we would be waiting endlessly in front of a red but closed curtain. That's because our life is this mutual inflexion of the "playing" and the "audience", that's because it is this median vacuum between the "being" and the "otherness", between "mimesis" and "catharsis" (would say Aristote), this pleat (would say Deleuze), that we can conceive it, at once catch a fleeting glimpse of it, and a fleeting undestanding of it. Not knowing the truth, but saying each one ours, each one our "point of view", and share it with the others.

That's because this pleat incessantly un-folds and re-folds itself, pushed by the dizzying energy of the entropy, that "to be" is incessantly to dis-re-construct together, to dis-re-territorialize oneself together, to resist, a short instant, against the devastating wanderings of Entropy.

Elliot: “The world would be a much happier place, like a real Heaven on Earth. But people just harness the bit of creativity that suits their needs at a given time and let all the ‘impractical’ creativity go to waste.”

Practice any art, music, singing, dancing, acting, drawing, painting, sculpting, poetry, fiction, essays, reportage, no matter how well or badly, not to get money and fame, but to experience becoming, to find out what’s inside you, to make your soul grow. -Kurt Vonnegut

"Creativity is not device dependent." - Bruce Mau

i have been experiencing artist block..as i'm sure everyone does who takes on the challenge of a 365.. i started out on this expressive journey asking for guidance and to let the creativity flow through me...

and i sometimes think way to much-- get into my head.. which blocks that creative flow.

so today i just took some random shots- not much thinking.. and even when i started to put the layers on top of the image i selected, i remembered to leave that space, and ask for the guidance. this is the image that came into expression. :)

the roses are from my front porch..

i added the arm with the paintbrush & palette after looking at the image and deciding it needed something. it is my arm but from another shot. photoshop is amazing! (don't look too close!!!)

Took this the other night on the way home from work after it had snowed. Its a dead tree in a field in Healing Village near Grimsby. I have been wanting to capture this tree in some way for a while so I went to see what it looked like with snow on it. Used my kit lense 18 to 105. F10. ISO 200. 20sec exposure. Tripod mounted. Used a Lenser LRD Torch to paint the tree in light. The image staight out of the camera was a little dissapointing (dull with no depth) but I pressed Auot Correct in windows picture manager and the vivid orange came out. The tree isnt too far from the road so I am assuming the colour comes from light pollution off the stree lamps. Not 100% happy as I think it would be better if the tree was painted with the torch light a bit more on the outer branches to the top. I went with a friend of mine who took some shots but we where cold and already late home so I only got a couple of images. I may go back for another try if it snows again.
