Hey guys.
I'm not dead, just lost my way.
I quit the 365 project, and I actually really haven't picked a camera in about a month. Just kind of lost the heart for awhile, but I'm back!
Obvs since I quit 365 I'm not going to update as often, but I hope to get inspired more & take more pictures.
This particular photo/piece came to me randomly today and I really felt the need to create it. They key is a $1 ornament from Wal-Mart and I drew the outlines of the brains and the text.
I originally made it to post at hitrecord.org but thought I'd share it here too because I'm so very (probably too much) proud of it. I just really like it.
What's hitrecord.org? It's a collaborative art community that is absolutely amazing, please check it out! You upload your art (text, photography, poetry, animation, etc.) and anybody can download it and use it to create even more things ("remix"). I could go on and on, but you should really just check it out yourself :)
Anyhow.. enjoy!

Creativity vs Conventionality
The creative mind is always curious and questions everything.

الإبداع مقابل امتثال
العقول المبدعة هي الفضوليين وطرح الأسئلة عن كل شيء.
Dryer card -- red load dryer lint, two used dryer sheets, a frozen food box for the white card and reused paper for the sentiment. Pink card, used expired liquid fever reducer (yuck) to color the dryer sheet, chocolate wrapper for the gold foil and rubber band from vegetables for the red triangles. Crinkle card used lemon tea grounds to color through cardboard stencil onto leftover packing paper, then decorate with punch leftovers. Orange card used onion bag for mesh. CD card used junk CD, dryer lint hearts and a Clementines' bag for mesh. Bubble wrap card used anti-static bubble wrap and antistatic bag for pink color, also chocolate wrapper.
My cousin sent me a set of propelling crayons for Christmas/ birthday so I just had to try them out!
Colouring in brought back childhood memories so I added the red bird on the fence (I used to sing a song "Little Red Bird" while my father played the guitar when I was young).
Now I have the urge to go play with paper dolls!
I found the quotation online but I'm not really sure who first said it.
The photo is my own. I modified it using ComicLife software.

This is my 2nd project for my creativity definition. This is the first time in a long time (decades?) that I used something other than my camera & photoshop to create "art"....it was fun! I used the cheap watercolor set & brushes that Kal suggested & painted it on kraft paper. I'll display it next to my computer as a reminder that's it's ok to "get my hands dirty" every now & then.
...about creativity!
And memories.
Creativity, as has been said, consists largely of rearranging what we know in order to find out what we do not know. Hence, to think creatively, we must be able to look afresh at what we normally take for granted.
