This video shows the bee of the BEEVERYCREATIVE logotype 3D-printed as several individual parts in four different colours. These where then assembled together.
For the majority of commonly 3D printed items this has the following advantages compared to dual and triple-nozzle 3D printers.
- The results yield better quality
- No oozing and colour-smearing problems
- One can use unlimited number of colours (not only two or three)
- A single-nozzle 3D printer always uses the full range of the maximum build volume
- An interrupted 3D print only affects a small portion of the total print time
- No considerable extra 3D modelling overtime needed since multi-nozzle 3D prints also require individual STL files for each colour
For more information on this 3D print and the BEETHEFIRST 3D printer, visit beeverycreative.creativetools.se and youtu.be/vKgeOvcRBpc
The 3D model of this bee was made into several parts in Rhino 3D for Mac OS X. Each part was saved to an STL file and 3D printed a different colour. The where designed to snap-fit to each other.
The jolly music for this video borrowed from:
This small device traps dust in a small sponge before it enters the extruder. In some cases it can also be used to easily lubricate the filament just before it is extruded.
The adapter is designed to fit the Replicator (1) and Replicator 2 extruders.
Protecting your 3D printer's extruder from foreign particles is an important part of keeping the machine maintenance-free. This adapter makes it easy to keep the filament clean.
1 - Download the STL file
2 - 3D print it as is with standard medium or fine settings
3 - Cut two small pieces of sponge and place them into the filter case
4 - Close the case with the lid and two standard 3 mm screws
5 - Unload the filament from your Replicator 1 or 2
6 - Remove the filament guide tube
7 - Insert the loose end of the filament into the adapter.
8 - Make sure that it passes through the sponge and slides smoothly
9 - Insert the adapter into the Replicator's extruder hole
10 - Insert the filament guide tube into the top part of the adapter
11 - Enjoy hours and hours of dust-free 3D print extrusion
Check this Youtube video for more information:
Every now and then open the adapter and check the sponge for dust. Replace if necessary.
In some cases filament can jam or cause uneven 3D prints if the friction in the extruder's filament tube is too high. This adapter can also be used to lubricate the filament just before it enters the extruder.

A fully 3D-printable rotating stand for filament spools, designed to be easily made without the need for fasteners such as screws, nuts, shafts, glue, etc. Every single component in this spool holder comes right from your 3D printer's filament.
The spool holder's spindle is shaped to fit the vast majority of commonly used filament spools with shaft holes ranging from 16 mm to 62 mm in diameter. It is also compatible with spool-less filament coils.
The spindle which holds the spool's weight rotates on its own roller wheels, which makes it turn effortlessly.
The spool holder included an arm for filament guide tubes of both common sizes 1.75 mm and 3.0 mm. The arm also contains a pocket for inserting a piece of sponge which acts a a filament filter - thus keeping the filament clean and lubricated.
FEATURES
- Easy to 3D print
- Needs no glue or fasteners
- All parts can be 3D-printed
- Fits almost any filament spool size
- Has built-in filament filter!
- Can also hold spool-less filament coils
Next time you need a new filament spool holder, just 3D-print one! :)

3D-printed on a MakerBot Replicator 2 FFF 3D printer (makerbot.creativetools.se) with PLA plastic filament.
Download the model from www.thingiverse.com/thing:68880
This small accessory can protect your FFF 3D printer filament from two common issues - cleaning and lubrication.
A sponge wipes the filament clean from any dust particles and prevents them clogging the extruder.
By dropping a few drops of common mineral oil on the sponge the filament passing through gets lubricated thus relieving the extruder motor from strain.
Lubrication is specially useful if the filament needs to travel through long tubes before it enters the extruder.
INSTRUCTIONS
Download the STL-file from www.thingiverse.com/thing:492067
3D-print the provided STL file and insert a small piece sponge into the filament filter.
Poke a hole into the sponge and make sure the filament passes through and comes out at the other end.
Soak the sponge with a few drops of mineral oil (as for sewing machines, door hinges or bicycle chains).
Place the filament filter somewhere in between the spool and the extruder. If you have a plastic tube which guides the filament to extruder (such as a bowden solution) make sure you place the filter before the filament enters the tube.
