The puddles on our hikes are not as colourful without a good sunny day to brighten things up. I am eager to look for iced up puddles next! We have our first significant snow day today. Happy Crazy Tuesday!
In these pandemic times, it is sometimes hard to take flight whenever we want to. For those with ME/CFS, it must mean even more limitations. The ways we want to show support are limited with strict protocols. But, there are still ways to lift someone’s spirits and to show they are not alone. Make someone smile this week! (ME/CFS Awareness Week).
These past few days I have taken time to reflect like this Kingfisher. Two days ago, we received multiple text messages while our newest grandson was being born. It was wonderful to be in touch despite how far away we were. Then yesterday, we were without cell service and internet for a whole day. Our server was down across the whole country. The only news we received from the outside world was with our radio which many of our friends no longer own. It was a day to make us fully aware of how dependent we had become on our digital devices. I really felt isolated initially until neighbours started appearing on the street and conversing with each other in real time. Now that I have my technology back, Happy Sliders Sunday! 😊
“Everyone likes birds. What wild creature is more accessible to our eyes and ears, as close to us and everyone in the world as universal as a bird?” - David Attenborough
This is a composite I put together for Sliders Sunday using the Tree Swallow images I took earlier this week. I used 2 images of the birds and 2 of different backgrounds to blend together with a few other slides to tweak the scene. I truly enjoyed watching the aerial dance these birds do while hunting for insects. They skim right over the water and sometimes engage with each other mid air. I am one of those people who likes birds.
When going through a car wash, I saw this scene of water droplets running down the back window of the car. I used it as the backdrop to this slider. Sometimes our biggest unknown is what the weather will be like this winter. Happy Sliders Sunday.
“Life is full of simple pleasures. Find a few” - Unknown.
These days life is all about finding simple pleasures at home. Happy Sliders Sunday!
... or have you ever seen melting Tulips? Beyond off any reality. When your illusions have melted, you have to subject, because they don't come back to you. But heyyy, until it's melts it's a long way down.
Wish you all a very, very happy Sunday!

“Dream to the max” is a phrase we hear on advertisements for lottery tickets. Gosh, the prize was up to 50 million the other day! I said to the person at the counter “ Why don’t they just offer 50 one million dollar prizes?” She replied that not as many people would buy the ticket then. They would wait until the prize was bigger. Really? My big dream is that the new year brings us tons of opportunities to go road tripping and finding nice light for photo shoots again. BUT…..it would be nice to win just one million so our children could be mortgage free. 😏. Happy Sliders Sunday!
This is a busy time for me as I make up small gifts with my photography for a few special people in my life. I have 2 weeks before I retire and I have worked with many wonderful people along the way. Plus, I made connections with students that have enriched my life. My gifts are mainly inspired by nature's art. This lovely wildflower is called the Indian Paintbrush. I am looking forward to having more time for my own art soon.
Shooting into the glaring sun, Lake Superior shows a different mood.... having a little fun editing on Sliders Sunday.
So many creative people have created this twirl effect with PS. Everyone I saw, just Bravo, had to try it out. Here is my first attempt at a cherry blossom. Not that I like the Covid 19 situation, but there is more time for such creative editing that one might not otherwise do.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and stay healthy all !!
This particular day, the butterflies were flitting everywhere... creating a magical scene.
Happy Sliders Sunday
When I visit the highland cattle, that's the last path in the green, then I'm at home. I thought, finally take a picture. Unfortunately it didn't turn out well. Photoshop has to be there, I thought. So I took the usual process for the swirl. In between I chose other filters. Don't ask me which ones, I can't say anymore, sorry. It's a gravel path but could be water. Not true?
HSS, all and stay well
“The more you drift the more you will learn. What you learn affects the kind of person you end up turning into.” - Chang Ta-chun
This winter seems like we are drifting in time as we watch the progression in this pandemic. But I am learning new things and I feel I am becoming a more curious person.
This is another composite using a wood grain image I took and blending other images I had in my files. Happy Sliders Sunday.
