One of my students suggested this on the eval today. If I knew who it was, they'd get an automatic A.

No, the two boats didn't hit each other, but they sure looked like they might for a few seconds! The larger vessel was moving much more slowly, but as you can see from the spray coming up from the vessel in the foreground, it was really hauling through the inlet headed out to sea.
This shot was taken at Ponce Inlet. You can see the jetty and the fishing pier on the left. this is the actual inlet area where the Halifax River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Across the inlet lies New Smyrna Beach, the city just south of the Greater Daytona Beach area. Ponce Inlet is the most southern part of our beach side, and one of the prettiest parts of it. Known for fishing and surfing, the two don't always mix well, as the fishing draws sharks. The larger waves here draw the surfers, so it's easy to see why this area, and New Smyrna, also, is one of the most notorious places for shark attacks in the state of Florida.
One of my friends was a lifeguard when he was young, and was bitten on the heel as he paddled on his board! Now that Katherine, the 14' Great White Shark has been frequenting our waters, you won't catch me in them! I sometimes miss the ignorance of childhood, when I never thought about such things, but they are a reality here.
Nevertheless, Ponce Inlet will remain a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike because of its beauty.
The sky was rather flat that day, and the colors were so-so. I enhanced the sky with a cloud texture and added a touch of color to the horizon line for interest. The original, as always, is below.
Our neighborhood provides lots of wildlife scenes. The bucks are always special and have no problem with staring me down.

Gorleston Golf Club’s course occupies a dramatic strip of clifftop land above the North Sea at Gorleston-on-Sea and is often described as the most easterly golf course in mainland Britain. Much of the course runs close to the cliff edge, giving long views along the coast and exposing play to the prevailing winds, which are a defining feature of the layout.
The club was founded in 1906, with its first formal meeting held in May of that year. An initial 9-hole course was brought into use by 1907, laid out on leased land close to Cliff Park. Membership fees at the time reflected Edwardian social norms, with gentlemen paying one guinea to join and one guinea annually, while ladies paid half those amounts.
As development pressure grew on the original land, the club began looking for a more permanent home. This led to a move further south along the coast, and a new 18-hole course opened in 1913. The course then measured roughly 5,700 yards, stretching in a long, narrow form parallel to the shoreline. The relocation required significant investment for the time, funded by members and local support, though precise construction costs were not formally recorded.
Over the decades the course has evolved in response to coastal erosion, changing equipment, and modern expectations, with holes adjusted and tees moved inland where necessary. Despite this, it has retained its essential character as a true seaside course, where wind direction and strength play a major role in scoring.
Today Gorleston Golf Club remains a well-established part of the local sporting landscape, combining more than a century of golfing history with one of the most exposed and distinctive coastal settings in East Anglia.
I'd been worried that my non-matching hat and scarf were garish, but I kind of love them together on this gray snowy day!
Aujourd'hui c'était le rendez-vous annuel de la fameuse course de radeaux des squatters, bien drôle...
This was party of my walk yesterday afternoon ~ lovely walk through Prestwick Golf Club not long before it rained!

Thanks to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... Thanks to you all!
I enjoyed the course, I met some really lovely people.
I wanted to learn more about filters and I did ... but this shot is soft and I really wanted it to be sharp.
(I know most of my shot are soft !)
Any advice would be gratefully received :)
This thing must be photographed by every tourist who wanders the South Bank to see Big Ben. It is of course the London Eye - basically a massive technologically jazzed up ferris wheel. This shot looks up from below. After all the colour in my previous post, I've removed it from this one - to keep things mixed up and keep you guessing.
Funny thing is that Cloudia from the London Elephant Parade, 2010, had a ride on the Eye.

6:45am, and I find myself looking at this beautiful vista waiting for the starter to let me out on a nice Tuesday morning round on The Boulder course in Palm Springs. It is a pretty long course with lots of sand traps that are very deep.
He started off toward the reeds on the other shore but reconsidered, I guess, when he saw some paddlers in his path and wound up almost right where he started. Least Bittern in California bulrushes on Horsepen Bayou.
Vista from the golf course of the Golf Club Karwendel in Wallgau.
Wallgau is a town in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in Bavaria, Germany.
After some beautiful weeks in September and beginning of October we have now a change in the weather. Temperature felt from 26°C to 15°C in only one day - maybe we'll get the first snow in the mountains until tomorrow.
I used a great freeware tool to align my photos to create an HDR out of three photos:
