One of the opportunities you have at the Festival of Speed is to take a helicopter ride over the grounds of Goodwood house as well as the race course. Whilst not cheap (£95 for 5 mins including being seated next to the pilot), it is an experience to do.
This is the race course, the northernmost point before we headed back over the Festival of Speed

12/365 Jaymi
I had registered Jaymi for a rec. centre course a long time ago, and figured as long as I came with her, she could still do it. It was a Chocolate-Making course!
She absolutely loved it. They made tons of little chocolates, got to eat them of course, and even got to do a chocolate painting to eat at home!
*I have decided to start another 365 of Jaymi, beginning on the first day of her 'new life' with a healthier brain. She is so lucky to be alive, and this 365 will be a celebration of the wonderful little girl that is Jaymi.*
There is certain phases in life where you have to leave something behind and get ahead new challenges.

2nd Course: "Scrambled Scallops"
Scrambled scallop mousse with caviar served in an egg shell.
Paired with Elyse Winery's "L'Ingenue" (Failed to take a picture. Sorry!)
Notes: This course was incredibly briney. As a friend at my table described it, this dish tasted like the ocean breeze as experienced on the end of a pier. This flavor was even more intensified with the wine pairing. In fact, the effect of adding the white "L'Ingenue" wine was like eating oysters on a half shell - very raw sea and shellfish flavors. The wine was very shallow and light on its own, but man, paired with the scallops and caviar - bang! It hit it off with a lot of flavor!
The scallops were the consisitency of very loose scrambled eggs, or like oeufs brouillés. I haven't seen the recipe yet, but I imagine it's scallop mousse that's been scrambled with lots of cream and butter. Lots.
The caviar was very salty (no need for any additional salting at all) and the eggs added to the already briney scrambled scallops. Although it was meant as a decoration and "holder" for the egg shells, I enjoyed the red peppercorns with this dish.
Some of the dishes toward the end of the service featured mis-matched egg shells, which depending on your sense of humor, you may find "cute" or downright sloppy on the kitchen's part. Many of the eggs were cracked, as well, and some of plates featured the top half of the egg shell (the shallow smaller end) filled, or rather, over-flowing with scallops and caviar with the bottom half as the cap. Very clumsy.
I was especially dismayed by the lack of spoons for this course. Not only should we have been provided spoons, but they should be demi-tasse spoons - small enough to scoop out all the lovielies in the shell with. Instead, we had to have scoop half drink the contents with forks. We ended up just doing scrambled scallop shooters. Appreciated the clever double-meaning presentation, but was not practical at all.

Und wo war Andrew als ich mir den Sonnenuntergang ganz alleine angeguckt habe?
In Goa they will sell you beer everywhere. In Rajasthan, on the other hand, restaurants and hotels usually don't have an alcohol license. Andrew and I didn't know that and after two days sadly assumed that there wasn't any beer in the whole state of Rajasthan. Luckily later on we found out about the secretly hidden beers in everybody's secret refridgerator. Of course in the end it was only "fish soup" that appeared on the check, worth 300 rupees!
Don’t we all have an instinct to don body armor, pack a pistol and attack the police? It’s not like he was doing something threatening, like ringing a doorbell or backing out of a driveway.
Perfectly rational action for a patriotic tourist.
Hawtree Course, Grand Prix de Bondues 2007.
There are numerous raised greens which are well defended by judiciously placed bunkers. In addition eleven water hazards increase the challenges on a round on this course. A large number of professional events and national championships have already been played on this course since it was first built.
I just finished my second course of botanical drawing (as a teacher that is). The course was held in Leeuwarden in the museum of nature of Friesland. It's a wonderful building and I had a small class with enthousiastic pupils.
It's so nice to see so much progress in their work over the three day course. Amazing.
This is my table btw.
