On the latest episode of All Through a Lens, we talked about the various ways in which we discover places to photograph. This location was found accidentally while looking at another.
The orginal photographer, who submitted a photo to GoogleMaps, mistagged their photo. But through a bit of sloothing, I was able to find this (albeit nearby) bridge.
We shot a bit the evening previous, drove out, and drove back to it in the morning.
This was the first shot that I took in the evening. It was handheld with the Graflex - something I'm trying to grow into more and more.
This bridge was built in 1915ish. It is on public land.

I pass this old barn on County Road 30 fairly often and have noticed that the old concrete trough in front of it has been converted into a planter. I don't ever recall seeing it with the siding intact. That square of barn siding has always been part of its look.
UPDATE: I recently noticed that the "planter" is now gone, after all these years. :(

I find the radar on the dash interesting, as speed enforcement in the unincorporated areas of California--i.e., outside city limits--is generally the domain of the California Highway Patrol (although sheriffs' deputies will stop obvious traffic violators).
