An abandoned schoolhouse on the farm field somewhere in the Polk County, Nebraska. Taken on February 24, 2021.
Along the track, though the trees
Blown upon the wild breeze
Over the fields of life giving green
Where natures beauty is always seen
Growing wildly, when you follow the breeze
Along the track and through the trees

Laggan is surrounded by the Monadhliath and Grampian mountain ranges. The name is the name of the Village but my Laggan photos are of the area through the Village and onwards, the peaceful countryside with the chance to see a wide variety of wildlife from Golden Eagle or Osprey to Red Deer Stag and Pine Martin (we saw only the Red Deer and Osprey from the list). There is also an abundance of wild flowers, plants and trees. The River Spey runs through. It is notable as being the region in Badenoch where the Gaelic language survived the longest.
Laggan is in the Cairngorms National Park and featured as the fictional village of Glenbogle in the BBC TV drama series Monarch of the Glen where many of the locals took part in playing the minor background roles.
I suppose if you had to describe the English countryside this could be it, the rolling fields, billowing clouds, hedgerows it’s all here. Of course we have so much more which would easily put the mundane scene into the shade. But when you see a scene like this you can here the skylarks sing and you must have no romance if your heart does not sing as well.

Although, I do love to walk along our coastline I also like walking through the countryside. This morning I made my way towards Fullerton Woods, in Troon, before making my way back home along the beaches!

I can definitely say it was worth getting up at 4:30am, grabbing a coffee and getting out with the camera. Especially considering it's not my day off to come back and sleep a bit more.
Definitely needs to be viewed large. www.flickr.com/photos/48230692@N05/7159655053/in/photostr...
