While Amtrak's Ethan Allen Express heads north along the Hudson River, flocks of Canadian Geese wisely use the river to navigate south.

Whatever they do, we do the opposite. Yes, we expected that kind of question. No, it is not time to answer yet.

The traces of a tractor and long shadows created a wonderful pattern in a grain field at the moment a group of joggers was passing.

Award counter

I spilled some water on the counter while making coffee in the morning and was excited to see these patterns and shadows.

Teleport to The Red Light District

MUDE, the Museum of Design and Fashion in Lisbon, had a lot of interesting exhibits, and apparently inhabits a building originally designed for some vary different purpose, perhaps retail. Most of the interior has been stripped down to bare, stressed brick & concrete walls & floors, although there are wonderful polished stone counters on a couple of floors.

Lots of opportunities for urban abstracts, like this gap in an interior wall.

The change from Daylight Saving Time back to Standard Time has been a source of consternation for the cats as I try to shift their feeding times an hour later. It is expressed with counter stalking and dramatic licking of the scoop that I use to dole out portions of dry food--as if to say "I am on the brink of starvation".

I can not get them to understand the concept. :D

Bullhorn guy. Rob Bell would be proud. I volunteer as a marketer for the Army: "Ladies and gentlemen, today marks the seven-year anniversary of the Iraq War. Over 100,000 civilians have been killed in this war. Over 5,000 United States troops have been killed in this war. So what if there were no WMDs? So what if al-Qaeda had no connection Saddam? It's still worth being over there! The war is not over yet and our government needs your child for sacrifice today. And if you join today, you'll receive these great benefits: Free college! Adventure of a lifetime! Job security! These are fantastic benefits, and all of them can be found at the military recruiting station behind us. However, I am required to note that as great as these benefits are, they do not apply to the dead." www.ivaw.org/

With all the recent events in Europe, I decided to make this figure. Excuse the dark photo, the sun is just setting too fucking fast at this time of the year. Nothing special, but enjoy!

And wherever he went—into villages, towns or countryside—they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.

A counter unit on part of the machinery at Massons Mill, Matlock Bath, Derbyshire.

Taken on the Flickr Lumsdale Group meet on February 15th 2014 with Graham Fox, Kev Palmer, Steve Woodhead, Sean Chapman, Dave Oxtaby and last, but certainly not least Liz.

After a soggy morning splashing around in the mud at Lumsdale, Graham had arranged for us to go on to Massons Mill museum to photograph the machinery - a stroke of genius, Graham!
