Cosmos sulphureus is a species of flowering plant in the sunflower family Asteraceae, also known as sulfur cosmos and yellow cosmos. It is native to Mexico, Central America, and northern South America, and naturalized in other parts of North and South America as well as in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

The Sulfur or Yellow Cosmos is originally native to Mexico and south to northern South America, but has been naturalised most everywhere people have gardens.
The flowers are usually in the orange range of colours, but cultivar's flowers range anywhere from light yellow to dark red.
According to the app PictureThis, Sulfur Cosmos is also known as Klondike Cosmos and can be orange or yellow in color. I bought a 6-pack of the young plants because they were labeled as "Dwarf Cosmos" and the plant is about half the size of the usual big, rangy pink or white cosmos we all know. The leaves are bigger and sturdier looking.
One house in our neighbourhood has these beautiful yellow and orange flowers planted: Cosmos Sulphureus. The flowers attract bees and probably other insects, but I only saw bees—many of them. They were very docile and only interested in the flowers. Unfortunately, it was a bit windy, but I still got a few images that were in focus.
This is located in Av Capilla, San Benito, San Salvador, El Salvador. It is a nice ornamente to the sidewalk. It attracts lots of bees and some humming birds too.
