RHS Wisley Gardens in Surrey.
On what was undoubtedly the hottest day of the year, we went to their annual Plant Fair. We came away with a few bulbs and lots of ideas.
The gardens were looking gorgeous. Lots of flowers, especially up Battleston Hill ... the Prairie garden, grasses and heather beds were exuberant. The Exotic garden looked lush. The newly refurbished Alpine house is now open, as is the Orchid area in the main glasshouse. The new lake has been unfenced.
Add extra time for getting there due to the major road works along the A3. As for getting out again ... steel yourself for a nightmare and be very careful as to what lane you get into ... we almost ended up going west on the M25 ... noooo!

This week and weekend they are hosting the autumn Flower Festival and Plant Fair. Pre-booking was essential, but numbers clearly were not restricted!
We ended up having to park in the farthest corner of the last overflow car park ... must have been getting on for a mile to reach the start of the main garden. Not a problem, but we were surprised.
The show was packed ... the gardens themselves were busy. We haven't been since December 2020 ... it is looking good. Many changes!
