Marko Pogačnik conceived the Slovenian coat-of-arms as a cosmogram, an energy shield. It features Triglav, the highest Slovenian summit (2,864 m) under three six-pointed stars that once adorned the coat-of-arms of the counts of Celje. The two undulating lines under the stylized Triglav present the sea and the rivers.

Dr. Seniors and students at Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture viewing Cosmogram under which some of Langston Hughes' ashes are interred.

Installation, barley seeds on clay, diameter 10 meters.

Agrifestival Hippana, Azienda Agricola Traina, Palazzo Adriano, Italia, 2013.

OSEA 2 takes its inspiration from the tradition of the Eastern mandalas, of cosmograms and very ancient and esoteric shapes but it also referes to the materials and the signs of the work of some Italian masters of the late twentieth century. It is the West that meets the East not only from the outside but also from the inside. The aim of this installation is to create a work following secular rituals full of propitiatory gestures which bring fertility and good luck. Moreover it expresses our urgent need to reconcile to the hearth, too often humiliated and hurt by the human beings. The title refers to the Old Testament prophet Hosea who, in the second chapter, expresses the vision of humanity in peace with God, a God present in everything.

Andrea Kantos wrote about OSEA : " It’s an archaic, almost astronomical grid, connected to the land, reminding us the concept of the mutability of all living shapes that, in order to exist, have to enjoy, live and die . According to the artist, life is an impulse given by the movement. (…) OSEA 2 is a catalyst of rural vitality that draws powerfully to a sacred dimension not easy to perceive, because it doesn’t want to be explored by the intellect, but lived through experience and joy. The prophetic vision is not just a grim prospective of paths, but it intends here to mark a spiritual function of art, able to process not only aesthetic, but also ethical outcomes. In this way art evokes a respect for nature and the recovery of a lost role of men who have to be no longer ruler, but roomer”.

Cultura Chokwe, R.d.C.

It honors the founding female ancestors during the Mukanda initiation ceremony. It is particularly significant as the Chokwe trace the lineage through the lines of their mothers. Pwo's joint performance with her male counterpart, Cihongo, brings fertility and prosperity to a community.

Scarifications are signs of ethnic identity. The central cross on the forehead has been interpreted as a cosmogram while the marks on both cheeks refer to tears. They dance during the rites that mark the completion of the initiation into adulthood, therefore an occasion for the dissolution of the bonds of intimacy between mothers and their children. The pride and pain that the event represents for Chokwe women is alluded to by the tear motif.
