I have a fondness for Great Crested Flycatchers-the first birdsong I "remembered" from one season to the next was their Cops Whistle. Of course it is a pretty distinctive sound. I was going through the Park and heard quite a LOT of Cops Whistles something was disturbing this one, well actually it's mate.
Mow Cop Castle is a folly on the Cheshire/Staffordshire border near Congleton. Despite looking like it's on a remote windy hilltop the castle is very close to the road and access is a relatively easy short walk from the car park. It's a great place to watch the sun set across the Cheshire Plain with views of Snowdonia, Liverpool and Manchester.

Had to take my car in for a service yesterday, early doors, to Telford Skoda at Kingstown. Took the liberty of popping into The Border City for an hour on a 79 bus to have a breakfast in the cafe at The Citadel. I hadn't taken my camera but that didn't matter as there was sod-all passing through. Snapped this 57 with my phone as it turned out that I didn't have a shot of it.
One of five views showing former doorways (from different angles) inside COP car No. 013140 which was originally built as a 1st / 3rd composite with internal doors splitting it into three sections.
Two sections were for 1st class passengers (smoking and non-smoking) and one for 3rd class passengers (either smoking or non-smoking, I am not sure).
First class was abolished on the Hammersmith & City route in 1936 but the last 19 O stock trailers were built as composites because they were destined to be used with P stock driving motors on the main section of the Metropolitan line.
First class was abolished on the District & Metropolitan lines during WW2 but apart from the removal of the internal doors the trailer cars retained their other partitions.
