On the day I purchased my first Young Person's Rail Card (slightly later than I should have done...) I had a quick look at the pacer replacement kick out that, at the time, was doing a Southport and then an Oldham Loop turn.
As I watched it leave I was pleasently surprised to see it was a 37. To top it all off another 37 was making it's way north on the WCML. Great timing.
So, new railcard in hand I worked out it was possible to get to Meols Cop to intercept the 37 on the return working. This is the photograph of the move.
The 1123 (2J82) Southport - Manchester Victoria arriving at Meols Cop. Approximately 1/500th of a second later I realised iit was a F****** 37/9. The "noise" of it leaving Wigan was actually just the sound of the other 37 on the WCML. Good.
Still did it to Manchester Victoria and around the loop though. There was a good selection of zoids on it and we had a laugh despite the absence of a racket from up the front.
The Phi-cops dragons. Must upload some of my Evernote Moleskine doodling.... This started out as a play with "phi-cops" and once I joined two large versions in the middle I started to see the first dragon. Still a work in progress, so may colour it in time. ;@) Thanks for looking.
This guy came into my yard today and threaten to kill my family... no reason for it.. just thought it would be a good idea to kill us... well... the cops found crack.. explains a lot.
One of five views showing former doorways (from different angles) inside COP car No. 013140 which was originally built as a 1st / 3rd composite with internal doors splitting it into three sections.
Two sections were for 1st class passengers (smoking and non-smoking) and one for 3rd class passengers (either smoking or non-smoking, I am not sure).
First class was abolished on the Hammersmith & City route in 1936 but the last 19 O stock trailers were built as composites because they were destined to be used with P stock driving motors on the main section of the Metropolitan line.
First class was abolished on the District & Metropolitan lines during WW2 but apart from the removal of the internal doors the trailer cars retained their other partitions.
