The other day I went for a hot chocolate and saw these really cool cars at the bakery. Thought I'd upload one of the photos I took of them.

I seem to be drawn to negative space at the moment. I was trying out possible subjects for this Friday's 'Cylindrical' challenge, but then realised this weight was only partly cylindrical. On the other hand, I rather like the weight, so here it is. I found it recently in a local shop and the only thing I know about it is that it's German. I've had the 2 weights in the background for years and often use them for holding down paper bases in macro images to make the paper lie flat.

Two images of Over Owler Tor taken a in different conditions. The warm-toned image was taken just after sunset on a fine day and the cool-toned image was taken at sunset on a cloudy day. Both images were taken from Higger Tor but, as can be seen from the different position of elements on the horizon, from slightly different places.
Posted a shot of this raven before but this is a different pose.

As we've had such a wonderful few days weather wise I actually went for a cold water swim the other day, and the sea certainly felt cool :) It's hard to believe it's mid November though as it's been beautiful t shirt temperatures. My drone arrived yesterday so I need to learn how to use it before a trip I have planned up to Skye in December. All exciting. I'm off to Essex for a few days next week, so that should be a. nice change even if we do have colder weather forecast. Cool Water is by The Sons of the Pioneers.
With such a hot summer, you need to get lost for a while in
a forest ... Good mid-August day.

The girls decided to wear their helmets this morning in the deliciously cool air! Chanel and La Mer enjoyed a short walk and a bit of girl talk this morning! They are wearing EuroTrash....thank you, Ruth! We love these dresses...and the helmets, of course!

Amsterdam - Vredenhofpad.
In Amsterdam, the restoration of an enormous mural (1986) by the American artist Keith Haring (1958-1990) has recently been completed.
The "giant mythical beast", on the wall of a former refrigerating building, is Haring's second largest still existing work in public space in Europe.
In Amsterdam is onlangs de restauratie van een enorme muurschildering van de Amerikaanse kunstenaar Keith Haring (1958-1990) voltooid.
Het ‘reusachtige fabeldier’ is het op één na grootste nog bestaande werk van Haring in de openbare ruimte in Europa. Rechts onder de mural ( 12 x 5 mtr) is de handtekening van de kunstenaar te zien, samen met de drie Andreaskruisen uit het wapen van Amsterdam.
De Amerikaan schilderde het fabeldier vanaf een hoogwerker op de muur van het toenmalige museumdepot van het Stedelijk, in 1986.
Het depot was voorheen een koelhuis dat is ontworpen door Nicolaas Lansdorp en werd gebouwd in de jaren 30 van de vorige eeuw. Het werd indertijd samen met de rest van de Centrale Markthallen gebouwd om de voedselvoorziening van de stad beter te reguleren.
Vanwege vochtproblemen werd in 1994 een metalen scherm voor de gevel geplaatst, waardoor het kunstwerk uit het zicht verdween. Na het weghalen van het scherm kwam er in 2019 een restauratieplan.
De gemeente heeft besloten om het koelhuis met de muurschildering aan te wijzen als monument. Marktkwartier en de gemeente Amsterdam denken samen na over de zichtbaarheid van het werk na herontwikkeling van het Food Center Amsterdam terrein (parool.nl).
Slowly, day by day the seasons change. I enjoy the feel of my gown for sleep, perhaps I am asleep, yet the breeze is cool and soft.
Taking a moment to enjoy the last touches of an Indian Summer that will soon pass on to Autumn.
And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.
