Light moves so quickly! The warm colours of this spectacular sunrise lasted a mere 8 minutes. I am glad I was there to capture it :)

This flowering bush plant has always reminded me of my grandmother who has been gone now since 1979. And everyday I miss her, I call the Hydrangea "A MawMaw bush". And no one real knew but she told me once when the radio was on that 'Cat's in the Cradle' was one of her favorite songs. Because it reminded her of her family, you see she had 8 kids, one of which was my dad. She was from the "Old South" but moved up to NC about a year before my dad & his 2 other sisters were born. I have a fairly BIG FAMILY!! (pawpaw had to work at the mill so he was never home, that's how the song relates).
Take the time cause you my never know!! It does repeat itself, in fact in my family my daddy is a Ret. NCSHP officer, and you know they were NEVER home. But out protecting everyone else. ("not today, I got a lot to do"). It does pass down even without meaning to.

One from the archives, from April, 2012. My Canon 75-300mm lens is "finished" in the words of a camera expert I consulted, so I will have no new photos for several monthes. I will have the Canon 400 f/5.6 by December, though. :)

Skipper is no longer a teenager, she became a beautiful woman. The press released photos which prove that Skipper is probably the successor of the Fashion Empire built by the powerful Barbie.
I’m sick of playing with the grown-ups! Being a kid is was so easy!
I got home from work, riding on flat tires mind you (makes for hard going up those hills), and my youngest brother “Johnny Ackleberry” wanted to show me a turtle he found in the dam. It looked pretty dead to me, but he insisted that it wasn’t. Then it moved, just to prove his point. But my backyard is so beautiful that I took a few pics in the light of the setting sun. Summer is on the way!!
